McAvoy should've been yanked and suspended for the Conference Final. He lined Andersson up, blind-side direct hit to the face with his shoulder. He even lunged upwards to make contact. Wow. The hilarity of it all is that the video deemed it a illegal hit to the head but no player has no history so 1 game - like that should even matter. The NHL rule book doesn't allow for a major penalty or a game misconduct for an illegal check to the head - a 2min minor is the only option. He could have received a match penalty if the ref thought there was intent to injure, but even in this ruling they say they accept that he wasn't deliberately trying to check Anderson in the head.
