You're letting emotion get in the way of the discussion

For the 732nd time in this thread, was a fan of the Bruins going back to Neely, Bourque, and Oates. I don't cheer for them over Vancouver and I go to 2-4 Canuck games a year, that costs me about $1000-1500 to make those trips from where I live. So kiss my ass questioning my Canuck allegiance thank you.

I really hate when people pull out the "emotional" (woman) card in a bit of a double standard.

I am emotional about my (one) team.  Have you not heard the hell hath no fury thing?

I'm leaving so I don't have to go full PMS and say/do anything I'll regret.

GO CANUCKS AND ANYONE NOT THE BRUINS OR LEAFS GO

You people doubted greatness when honest folk like me pointed out the Bruins resilience.

I hope this teaches a lesson. Not so happy and fun now is it? Not when the B’s are heading back home with a chance to raise ol’ Lord Stanley. Especially us Canucks fans, we should be seasoned vets in knowing not to write them off so early

While I thought the Rome suspension was overkill, lets not forget that hit basically ended Horton’s career.

You're letting emotion get in the way of logic and facts.

Quote

On January 22, 2012, Horton sustained another concussion, this time from Philadelphia Flyers forward Tom Sestito. Horton would not return for the remainder of the season or for the playoffs. Nathan Horton did not play for another team during the 2012–13 NHL lockout and made his 2013 season debut for the Bruins on January 19, 2013, opening night against the New York Rangers.

On the day of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Horton's representatives confirmed he had informed Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli he would not be re-signing with Boston.[90]

Columbus Blue Jackets[edit]

On July 5, 2013, Horton signed a seven-year free agent contract worth $37.1 million with the Columbus Blue Jackets.[91] However, off-season shoulder surgery would sideline Horton until January 2, 2014, when he finally made his Blue Jackets debut and scored the game-winning goal in a 2–0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.[92]

He did NOT end his career...it was a combination of injuries and he played after the fact.  The only way you can attribute the end to his career with the Rome hit is if...his career ended there.  It didn't.  AND he sustained further injury.

Logic.

Ignoring logic regarding the Bruins due to hatred from a series that happened 8 years ago is rampant here.

People in Boston CHEERED when a guy was laying on the ice, badly injured.

The Bruins and their fans are supposedly disgusting, yet the same people claiming this have literally posted hoping for the Bruins plane/bus to crash killing them all.

Trash talking away from the game is slightly different.  I, for one, would never jeer/boo at any player who is badly injured.  Ever, despite who it is.  I may not feel sad, but I'd feel concern.

FTR:  I don't think you're a bad person.

they allowed the blues to knuckle the bruins enough as it is. the bruins in 2019 are the 2011 vancouver canucks and its sad to see. however, the bruins have experience on their side, and they are still better than the 2011 vancouver canucks were, and will prove it again when they FORCE game 7 (and we know what happens in game 7's) against the DIRTY st louis blues. when they force game 7, it's over. all you bandwagon blues fans can go back to sorrow for the rest of the summer while the GOOD GUY brad marchand will have a parade with the stanley cup and will get to eat that cinnamon toast crunch from the holy grail

Marchand could use the butt end of a stick right on the eye socket. That said he's a great guy right?

Concussion and Spinal injuries are related I don't doubt that hit contributed to what he has endured since. He had no back issues prior to that hit.

As sad as it is to see the hockey season ending. It’s nice to see a game 7 for the first time in awhile. But for god sake it’ll sure be nice for this trolling and Bruins daisy chain to be put to bed.

He didn't have back issues, but he had shoulder injuries, surgery, etc.  so I feel it's rather presumptuous to connect dots as you have without considering that he was, by no means, injury free prior to Rome's hit.  And, the fact of the matter is, he was there hoisting the cup shortly thereafter.  Raymond's injury can definitely be pinpointed to a smash into the boards that caused serious injury.  You've yet to address the fan reaction?  You're quick to point out our actions, but how can you overlook that so easily?

I, too, will be glad when this Boston lovefest is over.  It's nauseating.  I forgive, but I don't forget and the people putting our team down for 2011?  SMH.

While it may not be against the rules, it's rather alarming in a seriously displaced loyalty way.  I get cheering for another team....but not when it comes with throwing ours under their bus.

Yup.  Marchand has tried on more than one occasion to injure Binnington, and that was a clear attempt to tear up Peterangelo's knee.

Karma finds its way around eventually so I’m just hoping it gets to this trash can.

This total POS is a blight on the NHL. His actual talent and skill is overshadowed by his totally gutless and thoughtless actions, that once again, are seemingly allowed by the league to continue. While I don't like to condone headhunting in the game, Sharthand is the one player in the league presently who probably no one outside of Boston (and Twilight and 73_3) would feel bad for if he was injured in game.
