Hockey players are friggin’ tough.

Chara is as tough as it gets, but Alf has the right of it.

I've been hit in the face by slapshots 3 times over my 50+ years of playing and I know exactly how Z feels. Funny thing is, it isn't so much painful as it is stunning. It's like the worst bell ringing you ever felt. There's also a lot of blood. Anything around the face bleeds profusely.

That being said, just like Chara, I always wanted to get back out there, but I never had the luxury of team medical staff. The game was always long over, by the time the ER staff got around to stitching me up.

So the Bruins win by diving, Blues decide to try it out, either way it's called gamesmanship? I think it's time for a new 5 minute misconduct penalty for diving. No man advantage but 5 minutes in the box. A ref on video review to call it. As well as goalie interference.

I think it's karma. the king of dive Marchand gets payback for the ones and smirk in doing so

Don't relish it too long, Bruins get away with so much (watch the next game)

Marchand skating past Binnington, well after the whistle, and tugging on Binnington's pad with the blade of his stick should have been a match penalty.  That tug twisted Binnington's knee while he was reaching for his water bottle.  The ref was there, saw everything, and did nothing.  If the league wanted to end the stupidity of Marchand, they would have plenty of good reason to suspend him for a very long time.  The league is afraid of losing fans in Boston (and all US cities), so nothing is done.

That tug on the pads could have been more dangerous than it appeared. The knee at an awkward angle could have pulled a knee or groin very easily. Not a hockey play and he gets away with it.

It’s Boston. If Sutherland was reffing he would’ve called Binnington for embellishment.

None of those wussy shields for me....

You know what I meant.....

I played a few years of beer league without but too many full shielders waving sticks around carelessly.  Got into a few fights over it. I still only wear a half shield.

Yep. I have a permanent bridge, thanks to a beer leaguer waving his stick around.

BTW: In response to your previous post, would say that yes, I'm an expert....just not a "Pornstar Level" expert....

Damn. Ouch. That’ll change the course of this series. Chara was really the most intimidating presence the Bruins had. There really isn’t a player in the Bruins that’ll deter the Blues physicality now.

No one to protect Sharthand either.

Either that... or this becomes a rallying cry for the Bruins to win it for their captain.
