Yes, it does. You can google what I’m referring  to or keep acting like a braying jackass. I don’t care.

The only jackass is you, for in any way believing the internet is a necessity for life. How do animals live? They dont have the internet. How did humans live before the internet was invented?

You just sound dumber and dumber with every post.

Im laughing at your stupidity.

Cool. Meanwhile, I’m just saddened by yours.

It actually kinda does. If technology and society was stagnant, sure. But things have changed over the last 15 years.

Of course they have changed.  My point still stands.

CRTC  says 90% of Canadians will have access to HSI by 2021.  I guess the other 10% are going to die.

Oh, they won’t die but their ability to participate in contemporary society will be severely hamstrung.

Is the issue that you (and the jackass) think that I believe a person will die without the internet?

Check meaning of ‘false equivalence’ .    Two sides are not always equal with truth being somewhere in the middle.

The Acqulini group has been forced to pay and in their own letter they admit improper work standards.  Case closed.

Almost all the extorting in our world of 7 plus billion people comes from the powerful and elite doing it to the weak and poor or just people with lesser means - get your math sorted.

thats too simple a narrative, and pushes off your personal responsibly (I'm assuming you're not a billionaire).

All of us own a piece of Shanghai smog or India slum. Assuming you own a phone and have bought clothes. And yes it applies to your blueberry smoothie too.

No our issue is that you somehow believe that paying for your own internet is somehow equal to paying for your heat or water or grocery bill, when your pathetic reasoning for that was “so they can find jobs and get gigs cause forget food a person needs to pay their taxes blah blah”

its a moronic statement without a doubt and yet you keep defending it.

Well, for me it actually is since my job is done entirely online and I kind of need that to keep the lights on and food in the fridge.

But please, keep acting like a complete nincompoop. It amuses me.

You keep saying it is a necessity.  I say it is a luxury.

You just said that not having internet will hamstring one's ability to participate in contemporary society.  That is a pretty broad range of stuff, but I am curious what is critically important in there... that cannot be done without the Internet.

I can pay all my Bill's without using the internet.  I can get work without internet (and have done so).  I can feed my family without internet.

Don't get me wrong... I really like having good internet access, and have enjoyed fiber for 10 years or so.  But even if I needed access to apply for a job, I could do it without having it in my home, using my phone, or bothering friends or family for theirs.

The internet is as much a luxury as owning a car.  Just cheaper.

So if the internet suddenly blew up and didnt work anymore, you couldnt possibly find any other means in the world to provide yourself food, shelter, and water?

All jobs and ways of making money in the world, absolutely rely on everyone having access to at LEAST a 56k modem and a telephone line?

He knows he’s fundamentally wrong but too stubborn to admit it. Instead of backing down and maybe learning something, he feels like his back is to the wall and is coming out swinging.

His posts keep getting angrier and angrier. He will either snap and start calling us names, say “im right you are wrong im done with this conversation “, or pout.

3-2-1......here we go

It’s very much possible to find a job without the internet but your prospects are going to be limited by that in 2019.

Honest question though: when was the last time you job hunted? I could be way off base, but from interacting with you on here over the years, I get the impression you have an established career?

Ok so you debunked your own statement about “needing” the internet to find a job.

In my experience, you are better off applying for a job in person instead of at your computer desk. It shows initiative and gives you a pre-interview so to speak. It shows that you arent a random resume in a pile of resumes, a real person.

I still have no idea what you meant by “needing the internet to find gigs or else it would be like starving or freezing or dying of dehydration “ though.

Huh, made up quotes. Please quote my actual post where I said that.

Also, some (admittedly) anecdotal experience, at previous jobs I had, if someone dropped off a resume in person (rather than applying online like we requested) we’d throw it in the trash after they left.

You replied to krager? I think saying your first post there, because he said the internet is not necessary to live (rightly so it isnt).

Your second post, you equate paying bills, job hunting, house hunting, “finding gigs” (whatever you mean by that), and paying taxes, to having food shelter and water.

Later on you rescinded job hunting. At least you are learning. Which one next?

Real estate agents you can talk to, in person? You seriously think canada would allow you to not pay your taxes because “you dont pay for internet”?

What is this gigs you are speaking of? It must be mighty important. Pray tell us.
