[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on

Recommended Posts

I suspect the team said, given what we've paid you, we haven't received a reasonable return, so you are no longer wanted here, then the agent and client would discuss and conclude, what's the point of going back where we aren't wanted.

the thread title is a little misleading - there's nothing 'likely' yet.

Except if you read the post it explains...

When the top agent in the game and a veteran player PUBLICLY say the problem is staying and they want to move on ... they have virtually shut the door on returning.  It is the strongest message that can be sent, it is not accidental in the heat of the moment.  JP doubled down on Eriksson’s comments from Sweden in order to make it more untenable for him to come back.

Unless no takers can be found, it is now going to happen... that makes it “likely”.

If Barry had said other teams had expressed interest, hell even curiosity, then maybe.

I agree its a good 1st step tho.

Hopefully he doesnt try to handcuff the team by having a bunch of teams on his list that dont have space or a need for him

I can’t see this happening.

The Canucks have complete freedom to play hardball now without looking bad at all.  If they find a deal for him, they can say this is what we found.  After what your camp has done, we just can’t bring him back.  He will be waived and assigned to Utica if no deal has happened, and that is better for us than having to give up huge assets to trade him.  At least Edmonton/Ottawa/Carolina are still “technically” in the NHL.
