[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on

Mmmm....  I’d rather have Lucic watching Pettersen’s back than Eriksson taking him out for meatballs.

Yup. With both Ferland AND Lucic in the top 9 pretty much ensures EP is untouchable.

Personal views:

- No, I don't think we're desperate here either

- That said, you play hard-ball with Loui. If he declines deals, & shows his mug at camp, you waive his whiningA$$

- Throwing 2 hits all yr, then moaning in Europe?.. No, make an example of this schmoe. Publicly, appreciate that JB was diplomatic. The Brian Burke style here would be tedious, unnecessary & damaging(in future)

- If he doesn't retire/waive NTC, rinse & repeat next summer

That guy on PITB(Wagner?) was writing how this sets a bad FA-precedent. Screw that. You sign a 30+ mill deal, you'd best show up with either silky hands or a serious hard hat-mentality. Loui's a lump

For 2 yrs we're GOOD on contracts. Might have to use a coupla' young guys, more than is perfect. But don't let the tail wag the dog.

I don’t think this will set a bad FA precedent based on Jimmy’s comments down playing what Eriksson said to Swedish press.

JB has come out and said more or less both sides are looking for a solution , meaning he's likely allowing Loui’s camp to bring options forward as well. Dan Murphy  reported they’re was likely a deal in play with Edmonton but Loui killed it.

Based on the fact Loui went and moved his family to Dallas and has killed at least one trade [one has to assume he will kill an Ottawa deal as well] it looks as if he is playing hardball and I suspect pushing for a trade back to Dallas.

Jim has really been quite accommodating and sympathetic to him in the whole matter despite the comments from Loui and his agent and what I assume is a situation with a washed up cry baby making demands.

JP ,no one wants Loui and being honest he’s only an NHL’r on a poor team. If he’s waived I don’t think it reflects poor on us he’s made his bed.

Ferland-Pettersson-Boeser

Baertschi-Horvat-Miller

Pearson-Suter-Virtanen

Motte-Beagle-Leivo

McEwan

Gaudette

LTIR

Roussel

There simply isn’t a spot for him. LE really needs to realize this quick because if no deal is made its Utica and it’s not about being vindictive just what’s best for this club. Other FA’s will understand that, especially if he did in fact veto a trade and continues to only waive for so and so. The team and management have given him every opportunity and have been more than accommodating they’re comes a point.

Lucic can’t skate in top nine. He is a poor 4th liner who plays up based in on reputation and contract.

This has been discussed to death. Someone who can't skate doesn't get the amount of hits Lucic does. He was 7th OVERALL in hits with 259 this past season.

He isn't McDavid, but he can keep up enough with the right line mates.

Dont need Lucic for that. Besides, all someone needs to do is skate away at half speed and he'll never catch them

I agree we don’t need a slow 6 million dollar goon we have Roussel, Virtanen, Miller, Ferland This team already has a plethora of toughness and bite. Add in Tryamkin in the spring and  Podkolzin next spring  even Myers, we’ve got it covered. Enough of the Lucic crap Fsakes we got soon to be 2 defensemen over 6’7” I’d rather pay Loui to sit in Utica’s press box

Tryamkin still has 2 years on his KHL contract. There has been NOTHING said about his return, especially that quickly so I have no idea what you're talking about.

He has one year left bud. Clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about. Podkolzin has 2

Regardless. You said "in the fall". He has 1 year left meaning NOT this year.

We may see him late in the season, as in this season. Not certain if there is a deadline this December by which he must sign a contract. If his KHL team does not make the playoffs or has an early exit, he could return anytime thereafter.

It states spring not fall original post was edited one min later. No need to be a dick.

As I said you have no idea what you’re talking about. Do everyone {yourself included} a favor and take the time to educate yourself prior to shooting your mouth off.

Nikita is in the final year of his contract at the combine in Buffalo JB and Nikita’s agent Paul Diamond discussed his return. Tryamkin has been following the team and is enticed at the possibility of playing with Hughes.

further more his contract is up prior to the end of the NHL season. He will be back.

Dont make assumptions it makes an ass out of you and me lol. Educate yourself.

Look how the Maple Leafs and Rangers have treated players for decades. Players still sign there because they like the city, the team, etc.

The Canucks just signed 2 top end UFA and to good deals. Seems like how the Canucks have treated Loui meant SFA to them.

I'd also like to note that some of the most critical people about his Swedish media comments, were ex players.

These are hyper competitive people. Players give 2 F's that the organization waived your ass after not living up to your contract. Means a spot just opened for 'them' is all they see.

Exactly. Players make decisions based on their own set of circumstances.

Dude is stuck in the most Northern NHL city in the league while Gretzky is living the life in L.A.

That was an expensive phone call to the soul.

If the Holland/ Tippett duo can’t turn this dumpster fire of the team around before getting fired, McDavid walks as soon as he can.

I bet wherever Lucic would land, Phoenix included, he would become relevant again.

Just don’t see why we dump Loui for another bad contract that’s longer lol. May as well burry it or play him if we can’t move him for picks.

Ido hate looch tho hahaha

Perhaps he could be relevant again with a fresh start, outside a hockey crazed Canadian market.

I just feel that since he has been unable to get his game back in order over the last 2 years (given opportunities to play with Connor and Leon) he is lacking confidence or the speed of the game has passed him by. Things happen so fast out there now compared to even 3-4 years ago. Not sure he can process what is happening on the ice or even predict what will happen and thus his game has eroded so drastically. And for that contract, HARD PASS.
