That first shot was a legit, NHL caliber snipe and the second show some really nice instincts to get to net front and then some slick mitts to tuck that in. This is what people were expecting of the kid and now he is delivering. Ponomaryov has been the most impressive Russian in my eyes so far in the tournament. Hockey IQ is rly good, enough to overcome being a smaller player in the tourney. He stands just outside of the scrum and as soon as he sees the puck start to come loose he pounces on it and whomever on the opposition has it. Really looks like he thinks the game at higher level than most of these other kids in this tournament.
