We don’t want Horvat as a shutdown anymore. This is why we got Dickinson. If Dickinson is going log as much TOI as I think he will need more formidable wingers. At least Podz. 1 2 3 1
Popular Post 4petesake
It looks like the Hogz & Podz connection is real. Good to hear! 1 3

Yep exactly… the entire point of Dickinson is to try to spring Horvat loose for a more offensive role, he is better at that side of the game and a little miscast as the shut down guy. The hope is that he gives us a legit 2nd line threat just like what happened to Kesler when Malhotra came along. At least to start (assuming everyone is signed) I don’t see any reason to mess with the expected lineups. Miller-Petterson-Boeser Hoglander-Horvat-Garland Pearson-Dickinson-Podkolzin Motte-Sutter-XX Dickenson/Pearson and Motte/Sutter make two better PK duos than we have had in a long time which saves Horvat for PP time and a lot of 5v5 where he is playing against lesser competition. There is even a chance I could see Motte spending significant time on the 3rd line to form a puck hound/energy line to gain possession and frustrate the opposition. Popular Post ilduce39
I’m high on OEL and Garland… stoked for Rathbone and Juolevi… heck even happy to see Dickenson and Poolman but I think Pod is the new guy I’m most excited to see this year. Really seems like he’s going to literally muscle his way into the top 6 sooner than later. His two way game, battle level and passing make him a great fit with the shooters we have. Can’t wait for camp to start. 10
Herberts Vasiljevs
I REALLY hope they play this when Podkolzin scores his first goal at home. 2
Nucker 67
Really like Googlie's idea having Podkolzin - Pettersson - Boeser, as a comparable to the 80s Islanders line of Gillies - Trottier - Bossy. Maybe not a perfect comparison, but could you imagine? Those guys did pretty okay back in the day. That being said, what about the other 3 lines? Podkolzin - Pettersson - Boeser Miller - Horvat - Garland Pearson - Dickinson - Hoglander Highmore - Sutter - Motte Tough team to play against, with also OEL, Hughes, Hamonic and Demko. 1

I'd maybe start opening night with: Miler - EP - Boeser (agreed) Hoglander - Horvat - Garland (Hoglander earned this spot) Pearson - Dickinson - Motte (checking line) Mac/Gadj/Baily - Sutter - Podkolzin (have Sutter anchor easy minutes with two brash, young wingers)
Chronic.Canuck
After much debate and wonder, it looks like it's finally been settled as Podkolzin measured in at 6'4" 203 lbs on the training camp roster. Wow. Just wow. 1

Wow. Just wow. He'll probably end up at around 215-220lbs at the start of next season too, after a full NHL season/offseason of training. Kids gonna be a wrecking ball.

I'm guessing they reused old measurements for the guys that aren't there right now. That's the only explanation I can think of for why they would update his measurements from the draft ones they used for the rookie camp roster. I dunno.. elite prospects has him 181lbs. And hockeydb has him at 182. I don't think that list is current Edited September 22, 2021 by Vermette9

Maybe in that case move Sutter up to 3rd line RW and put Petan on the 4th line with Podz for sheltered offensive starts.
