It's a lot easier to teach someone to speak English than it is to teach them to play hockey.

True but then you also have prospect like that struggled to do so.

I believe , and this is just my opinion to be clear, that not being cable to speak English and communicate directly to the coaches and his teammates was a huge factor in him leaving.

Everyone understand when he puts his arms up it means goal.

And when he lifts the cup ppl will understand exactly what he's saying.

Just like Malkin and OV did when they didn't speak English.

I said at the draft, not on the ice.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Hughes made the jump in his draft +1. Petey made the jump in his draft +2 (and judging by his 2017-18 season in the SHL, he probably could have made the jump earlier). Seems to me as though high end prospects these days are making the jump earlier than they were years ago.

It's a moot point regardless.

Neither was 10th. They were higher. And yes both waited atleast 1 year.

This kid will be two yrs max and might get a release next year

So like Burkie said on SN he might be just 1 year just like EP and Hughes.

Hughes waited less than a year, and Petey was in the NHL after just one year. That being said, I imagine of the players left only Podkolzin and maybe Boldy would likely be NHL ready in the same timeframe that Petey and Hughes were, so you're probably right about anyone else taking 2 years or more.

I'd still love to see us negotiate for his release after one season, especially if he lights it up next year. It'd be pretty cool to see him and Tryam back in the lineup at the same time.

If not anything else, it would keep our streak of Calder contenders intact
