Popular Post Doogie
I read a comment earlier and it got me thinking. So, according to a CBA rule or something a NHL team can not buy out a KHL contract. However, I read that a player himself could buyout his contract. If this is possible, I doubt Podkolzin could afford to buyout his contract so why not start a GoFundMe campaign to help him buy out his contract. I know it’s sounds stupid but hey if it works we just got ourselves a top 5 pick ready to jump into the NHL. 6

CrippledCanuck
Not nhl ready, let him finish out his contract. Let him gain more experience and keep learning from playing against grown men, while he grows into one, He is only 17 years old after all. He has plenty of time to make the big show. Yeah if he goes all ep40 on us they mentioned maybe we can get out of one of the 2 years. I read an article a while back saying that he wants to come here when his game is ready and that he doesnt feel its ready right now. I want to see what he does with some team and line stability. We'll see him in some international tournaments next year.
Kevin Biestra
I say sign him to an ELC and use a compliance buyout on him the next day. Then maybe sign him to a bridge deal the week after.
48MPHSlapShot
Let’s just see how he does next season first. If he lights it up, then we can talk about it, but the KHL is a tough league, and the Pod is still really young. There’s likely going to be some growing pains. Popular Post King Heffy
Letting him develop in the KHL against men without burning ELC years is better for our long-term success. 2

Putgolzin
With the Tryamkin saga it’s come to light that the process for the buyout has to start a year in advance I believe. Meaning if we wanted Podzolkin here for the start of next year we’d have to start the buyout process now.

SuperJr
We are not the Oilers, dont need to rush our prospects. Its like asking a kid to shave but he doesnt have any hair on his face, so he shave his balls and he cuts it....
