Popular Post CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Arthurs Silovs 6'4'' 203 lbs Shoots: Left Born: Riga, Latvia / March 22, 2001 https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/ten-players-who-helped-their-draft-stock-at-the-u-18-world-championship Quote Arturs Silovs, G (Latvia)Latvia has produced some decent goaltenders over the past few years, and Silovs, a 6-4, 203-pound behemoth, is definitely one of them. Silovs helped Latvia advance to the quarterfinals for the first time ever, his 40-save effort against Canada ranking among the best performances of the tournament. Silovs’ .918 save percentage was fourth among goalies with more than three starts and was the main reason Latvia even had a chance in a 2-1 loss to the Canadians – and if one of his own defensemen didn’t score on him, Silovs could have led the Latvians to a major upset. He wasn’t on the NHL’s Central Scouting Service’s lists this year, but Silovs made his name known with a couple of important performances for one of the weaker teams in the tournament. Master 112
It's always smart to draft a goalie. I can't say I know anything about him, but most big-name goalies are taken outside of the 1st/2nd rounds afaik. I'm crossing my fingers on this one.

FlyLow_
If you're going to take a stab at something late, my preference is a big goalie. Pretty happy with this draft. 1

DrJockitch
I agree never bad idea to add goalie. Though did add from NCAA this year. A little curious that we didn’t draft a single D.

Add those to Hughes, Juolevi, Woo, Tryamkin, Brisebois, and Rathbone and I guess they think they`re good on D for now.

He drafted what 4-5 of them.

I remember watching that game and was like "damn whoever picks him up is in for a treat" and now we're here. Speaking of which, what is it with Latvian goalies having insane games against Canada?(Sochi 2014) 1

Originally this was a routine Russian surname of Silov. By the new Latvian rules they add "s" at the end of each surname.

Latvia got absolutely shelled and Silovs played great, not allowing any soft goals from my recollection. He stayed very composed as well. This guy could be a gem.
