I totally forgot about Laplante... why did he only play 5 games for utica? :o

massive injuries, too bad he looked like a mini-Burr for 5 minutes there.

Leipsic not QO'd in LA. Shinkaruk, neither.

Only two guys I would be interested in from the whole list is Nick Cousins and Ryan Hartman, but then again we have a slew of bottom six guys.

Thanks for posting the list!

Thanks, a veritable wasteland of draft busts or nearly-weres.

Rieder and "McDavid's winger" Rattie both gone, guess Edmonton goes back dumpster-diving in the bargain bin this off-season to replenish their forwards.  Dubas likely to join him.

see both hutton and granlund have canadian teams that will want them

I thought Hutton had a good bounce back season clearly put in work I'd be happy with him back in blue n green

Hutton will get two years at 2.5 to 3 million per from Ottawa.  I think JB will sign a UFA for 1.5 to play in our bottom pair.

I think we'll look at Jordan Benn, personally. Could be some others, but I see him as a target for them.

I'd probably swap Granny for Boucher - but perhaps they still sign Granny at less than the 1.5ish he made last year?

In any event I'd have him in around the 13 spot in the present setup, not including younger guys like Gaudette, so he's on the cusp regardless.

With Boucher though, they're probably thinking of goal scoring for Utica.

isn't granny up against the same issue as hutton?

if qualified he would have arbitration rights

and so he could file.. which creates cost uncertainty for the team

i believe that is the main reason why hutton was not qualified

i think the team would have risked 2.8 for another year of hutton

but did not want to be forced to accept an arbitration amount

Gaunce grandlund hutton the lucky ones getting away from this train wreck.

Best of luck to them. Although I guess nobody will sign them because they have no value and couldn’t be traded for a bag a bag of pick.

Pooalot good riddance wasn’t a fan before he came have fun in Europe.

I’d prefer Granlund over Goldobin and would like to keep Hutton but it’s nice to save that cap space on Hutton.

Granlund just feels like Eriksson most of the time.  Decent d from a forward but effort seems robotic.  Time to move on since we have Motte, Roussel, Leivo, Pearson etc.

Goldobin’s first full NHL development year was last year and now he just needs to make a serious jump which I think he may.

Or maybe JB doesn't know how to negotiate very well?  If you can prove my theory wrong I'm glad to hear it

We shouldn’t qualify Hutton.  He’d get 4 million in salary arbitration, and that way too much for him.  Granlund is not worth more than league minimum, which is what he will get somewhere.

Do we still own his rights until July 1st or is a free agent now? Anyone know?

My understanding is that the players not qualified became UFA’s as of 2:00 today. That’s why there was a rush to try to trade Hutton prior to the deadline

It’s funny

in my head I called Rattie.  Scored those goals in that pre season game and in my head I’m like......ya that’ll be all....
