Pick (2020, NSH) @apollo @cunningham19 I was gonna keep my cap space for free agency but I'm hoping to send energy into the universe by acquiring John and pray the Canucks 3 million cap penalty gets reversed That probably makes no sense but there is a connection here... Trust me I'd never trade for a Chicago player if there wasn't. Here's the connection... John was the prize of the, then "reversed decision"... NJD was fined their first round pick by the NHL for the initial 17 year contract to Kovalchuk... But was reversed and given the 30th pick which they drafted John Quenville with... I'm hoping the NHL will realize the 3 mill cap penalty is too harsh and reduce it from 3 million to 500k. Quenville is now on the same CDCP team as Roberto Florida before he betrayed the millions of die hard Canucks fans and decided to retire when he clearly had to stop playing because of injuries and could have just gone on LTIR. Clearly it was a spiteful move and I guess I can't blame Roberto Florida for holding a grudge... Roberto always had a big ego and I don't blame him for it, no other way you become the best NHL goalie of your generation if you have 0 ego. Stopping pucks is a grueling task. There was a reason he wore #1 and he knew it. He was #1 April 3rd 2012 was the most disgraceful moment I've ever experienced as a Canucks fan and I honestly can't blame Roberto Florida for turning against the fans of this team after they booed him off the ice on the verge of winning back to back President trophies just because he let in a few softies vs Anaheim that night. Anyways when the cap penalty is reduced everyone can thank me and @cunningham19 We've been in trade talks for some time now and glad we finally got a deal done! He shut down Columbus' offense with ease, and strolled on in to produce offense too. Then again, that CBJ defense/goaltending made Spezza look 10 years younger. We're happy to bring Toffoli in, and hope he can bounce back. Or even better, he gets traded to a contender after LA flops again. Rumour has it the Rangers aren't done on the trade front. 1
