Devron
I give props to Bergevin. What seemed like a knucklehead GM to start has made some really good moves. He’s done a really good job so far. Domi Weber Tatar Picking Kotkaniemi All pretty controversial moves looking like steals

Maybe, but plenty of potentially high 2nds given up for lesser players. Maybe this fanbase shouldn't complain much either.

Well Tampa has a decent draft record, but I guess we will see without Yzerman at the helm if things change. Even if they did get a decent player, that player wouldn't be helping us with our young core now. Miller, if he performs as expected, will have much greater value to our team now than that 1st rounder.

Historically, and again with Chicago he is likely a 3rd line player at best. A 2nd rounder a 3rd rounder and 3 more years at $3.9MM / yr. If he plays on the right side of Strome and Debrincat, there's a really, really good chance he repeats last year's performance. Kahun was traded and Perlini probably isn't being brought back. The Hawks need a RW for that 2nd line. And Shaw just showed he can play in a scoring role, especially when surrounded with talent. And Debrincat could make good use of Shaw pestering the opposing team's netminder. And $3.9m for three more years is a pretty sweet deal if the cap keeps going up. Just imagine if Benning made this deal. It's not a great deal - lots of ifs and maybes. But you could be correct. Not a small price or small gamble though. N7Nucks
And people complained about Vancouver not trading the Sedins. At least we didn't go out and re-acquire guys like Lapierre and Rome like what Chicago is doing. I hope they go out and trade for Andrew Ladd and Byfuglien too. grandmaster
Shaw had a career year last season. If he maintains the same production of close to 50 points, this trade is a definite win for Chicago. He is at a decent cap hit and is still young at 27years. I have no clue what the Habs are up to. You don’t let guys like this go like that unless he is confident in landing a Panarin like person. Noble 6
Montreal, the team that just barely missed the Playoffs this year, has 12 picks in the upcoming draft with 8 of them in the first 4 rounds.
