Kind of suspected that neither he nor Nelson would wind up moving on.   Losing Tavares - and then players like this - would be hard to stomach back to back.

Glad he's back there - but guessing it's 50 million +.

Close...  49 million.

7m is a lot better than that 9m rumour. Still a little high for my tastes cause his production did go down without Tavares. However, isles needed to go crawling back after missing out on panarin and we live in a world where Hayes makes 7m so fair compared to that.

That is a pretty solid deal, he probably had better offers elsewhere.

It is another one where you can argue with Boeser's camp that the salary range for top scoring wingers is between $6-7 million right now.  Meier at $6 million (with a crazy advantageous term for the player) and Lee at $7 million long term.  Those should be the outside ranges for a Boeser deal, he hasn't accomplished nearly what Lee has and doesn't have his size, but he is younger and will be signing away many of his prime years whereas Lee is getting extra years where he will be older and maybe not as productive.

Yup, starting to look like he should be into that range and not beyond, regardless of term.
