Ossi Vaananen
The discussion was regarding where to fit Gaudette in our lineup, be it centre or wing. Hirsch said Nashville wanted Gaudette at the draft. Speculate as you will. This would have been before acquiring Miller and signing Myers.
babalu
There was a rumour he was part of the ask for Subban and JB said no. 1
Popular Post Bubble Man
In most cases if David Poile calls and wants one of your young players. Just hang up the phone and get excited. Edited July 4, 2019 by Bubble Man 6
Popular Post 6string
Like Hirsch is saying Adam is NHL ready and its cost effecient too, time to move some baggage and make room for Gaudette! 1
Noseforthenet
The way these things go, what probably happened is JB was shopping Sutter and Eriksson around. He got to Nashville and Poile was like "Wasn't he one of your best faceoff guys? I know he was injured, but why are you wanting to trade him out?" JB answers, "Well we got a guy in Gaudette, ready to take the helm, so moving Sutter has become an option, where as last season it wasn't." So then Poile talks to his scouts and they're high on him, so they send back an offer for Gaudette instead. JB says "No thanks, we're trying to move Sutter. He needs a fresh start." Then Poile sends a better offer and Benning just says flat out that "We aren't trading him for picks or as part of a Subban deal, unless you retain some salary." And that's the end of that conversation. 1

I like Hirsch's optimism for sure but Gaudette needs to bring more to his game if he plans on working out.
Coconuts
Sounds like a few teams have been hanging around hoping to nab him, makes me even happier that we've held on to him. He could turn into something nice for us. 1
Popular Post 48MPHSlapShot
I think this is just a byproduct of our apparent interest in Subban. They wanted Gaudette to be part of the return and Benning said "No dice". I really doubt it goes any further than that.

Gaud looked better after he got sent back down to Utica. He really should have spent the whole season down there developing but had to play with the Canucks due to injuries.
Drive-By Body Pierce
Attention all other NHL teams: KEEP AWAY from the well priced effective personnel! Edited July 4, 2019 by Drive-By Body Pierce
Popular Post oldnews
A lot of teams no doubt would be interested in Gaudette. Now is no time to sell Gaudette. Good keep, GMJB. The thing is - a lot of talk about 'needing' to go out and add a 2RW - but the team has 3 or 4 candidates - and you never know - a player like Gaudette could step up quite nicely into a role on the Pearson Horvat wing. That role would not be as challenging as trying to play 3C / 'replace' Sutter. And they have Podkolzin a few years away.... I'm not sure I'd expect them to go too big there in the interim, particularly when you have young players like Virtanen, Gaudette at NHL readiness and a good pipeline. At the same time, I think there are a lot of people on these boards who don't understand what Benning is doing, or how much and why he values a player liike Sutter, particularly at this point - the expectation that Sutter could be dumped for cap space imo is a whiff. Hirsch may just be in that class with his reference to moving the Sutter contract as opposed to Sutter. The Canucks might move Sutter - for a reasonable return, but they won't be moving the 'Sutter contract'. 4

I agree, this would be the norm with a good prospect getting his feet wet in the bigs. Green has managed his minutes with development in mind, Adam is in good hands and carving a nice path. He might turn into a guy who can slot into either wing as pure C’s tend to be able to do. I honestly can’t believe how underrated both of these players are. With how rapidly they have trended up they might come into training camp and blow a lot of minds. Zack MacEwan was absolutely savage at times last year on the comets. I’m not a fan of everything JB has done but both of these players are beautiful, nipple tingling assets. 3
Devron
I’m sure that there were lots off teams asking for Gaudette when talking trades. Not sure why this would be news

timberz21
Like o said many time, I would like to see a third line with Gaudette in the middle and Sutter on RW. 1- Sutter can be a good mentor for Gaudette 2- With Beagle at 4th, and Sutter in RW we have depth down the middle. Beagle and Gaudette can interchange during the season depending on matchup and hot streak/slump by either player. Plus we keep a 5th C in case of injuries. Sutter can slot in Basically anywhere in the line up on a short term basis 3- with Sutter in the wing might take less toll in his body and actually play 75+ games. 4- We have a backup centrrman for our « défensive » line.
