RowdyCanuck
https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1797082 A number of teams have spoken to Marner's agent about the possibility of an offer sheet. Maybe something will actually happen soon. Edited July 12, 2019 by RowdyCanuck Added a little more info.
Patrick Jane
They would have to trade some players. They still need to resign Werenski.

GB5
Doesn't Marner have to agree to the offer sheet? Columbus is trending down after losing several players in free agency, seems like a place to avoid if he wants to win.
Xbox
CBJ barely made the playoffs and lost a lot of pieces. All Marner would do is replace Panarin. Four 1st's when you may not make the playoffs is such a steep price. Imagine Boeser, Juolevi, Pettersson and Hughes all gone as compensation to another team on top of their own 1st round selections. You're setting up another franchise for success at that point. Edited July 12, 2019 by Xbox

Yeah I heard (or read) someone saying he turned down some offer sheets because he didn’t think Toronto would match. I don’t think he has much interest in going to Ohio.

Marner is wanting an offer sheet well over the 10.4 threshold. offer sheets, or discussion of them, are likely at that cap (5 years) so the compensation is the two firsts, and not the four. When Marner gets one at the 12 or higher mark (5 years) he’s signing. Teams going over that number will want 7 years though. Fir Marner I’m thinking he wants only five years. There’s the sticking point. Over 10.4 teams want Marner for seven years. 1

I certainly wouldn’t want to give up 4 firsts for anyone other than a Gretzky or Lemieux clone but if you’re going to do it, you better get them for the full 7 years.

Sounds, ironically, a lot like Toronto..... except that the CBJ actually made it past the 1st round.... 2 2

Amebushi
Do it! I hate seeing talent like Mariner in a laughs uniform. Loving the cap hell they are in and want to see it blow up. Canucks are set for free agents this year but I am going to pop some corn and watch the festivities if someone wants to offer up something fun. oldnews
I wish the CBJ would go with a coaching change. Is the exodus there merely because it's Columbus, Ohio? I'm skeptical. How many guys want to play for Tortorella? If he were a better coach I'm not sure that question matters as much.
