riffraff
Ok well I didn’t do any search I’ll admit..... any gamblers out there? Sports bets? Table games? Prize fighting? Random wagers when you’re drunk? im into Texas holdem but I’ve spent time in casinos playing other games. I’m on a roll right now at the poker table winning the last three weekends. would love to hear the stories. The elations!! The heartbreakers!
Baer.
I play virtual reality PokerStars on steam. Its quite fun and most people are very talkative. It's for fake money but still fun. I'll also sometimes play blackjack if I'm in the mood. Can easily go up or down 60 bucks in minutes. I don't go to casinos very often. Been to Vegas twice, fun stuff. luckylager
I played a lot of poker with a good crew of dudes before most of us started having families. We'd play deep into the night / morning after catching a gig or playing pool and darts at the pub. Tournament style hold em, $25 buy in with re-buys for the first hour or two depending on when we started. Walked away with over $300 a few times. Was good times - cigars, whisky, beers, weed and good company. I miss those days, but I really don't miss the hangovers. I'm not much for casino's in Canada. The overwhelming stench of regret, desperation and loneliness is a bummer scene for me. Been to Vegas once, I can see why some love it, but I absolutely hated it. The place is a polished turd. 2
Baer.
Pickup games are always fun. I'm actually on a win streak against my poker buddies. My roommate is also a bit of a poker player. I won't go to Vegas if I'm not in a nice hotel. MGM was really nice, I barely left the resort since the casino and pool were all there. Hilton wasn't as nice. It's really far from the fun part of the strip. And there's no casino in the hotel, nearest one was SLS, which was quite mediocre, honestly. falcon45ca
I enjoy poker, but I cant stand gambling. I hate losing money without getting drunk or high or whatever...to walk away empty handed infuriates me beyond the shade of pale. I did go thru a rough spot playing VLTs after I split with my ex, but got a big win, bought myself a bass with it, and haven't played a one Armed bandit since
Twilight Sparkle
i won 50 bucks on a scratch and win. i was super stoked, liquor money!
Tre Mac
I like playing in these playmoney Bounty Hunter tourneys with hundreds of people on Pokerstars. Getting pretty good at reaching the final table. I actually won my first tourney on this site but it only had 40 people in it. I've won the last two tourneys amongst my buddies too, easily over $600 in winnings.
Shift-4
I play poker on line occasionally. No more than $10 at a time. Play Lotto occasionally. Clearly my best early retirement option.

redhdlois
I used to play poker a lot in a beer league and home games. Played in Vegas tourneys a few times, not WSOP lol, just small nightly ones at hotels. Came in 3rd once. I remember playing at a local casino once and the prize was a buy in for a big tourney at the River Rock....I came in 2nd I used to go watch the WSOP in Vegas and the Heads Up tourney at Caesars. Met lots of the big players. When in Vegas I just play BJ or the slots now. I would like to learn craps some day. I play (free) online slots with MyVegas (for MGM rewards) or Wynn slot app to earn free rooms.
Gnarcore
During the poker boom I spent almost 2 years not working and just grinding away online and at local live table games. Went to Vegas a few times and would frequent the River Rock and Edgewater Casinos in a bit. Online I mostly played $1-2 no limit hold em and Omaha Hi Lo... Got up to 5/10 blinds but dumped a lot of stack over a few months on a bad run and have since really toned it down. Have cashed out about 3k this year. During the rise of MMA I was betting heavily. There was an old forum where some of the larger players would chat and I got an invite. One of the key guys sets the lines for Vegas now... It took years for that sport to get their lines right. So often you could get in on the underdog early and arbiter your bet by the end and make money regardless. Nowadays there is not nearly as much edge but compared to the traditional big sports it's still there if you're in the know. I don't follow it as much now. Best win was Junior Dos Santos at -800 on a $275 bet over Werdum. My -1100 $50 bet on Holly Holm over Ronda was awesome too. Worst loss.... GSP's loss to Serra...dumped $400 on a parlay on that one. I'll play craps at casinos as well. Edited July 30, 2019 by Gnarcore

Gurn
If any one finds a "Sic Bo" table, that has a roulette style wheel, where the player rolls the three balls down a trough onto the wheel; let me know so I can retire now instead of in 3 years.

I started out with roulette when I was 19 and unfortunately I had good luck right away. My first time playing, using 20$, I won 660$. bought my gf an outfit with most of it and back in the 90’s that money went far. but the house always wins. i rarely play roulette or blackjack now but when I do and I get up even 50$ I’ll walk away. Im far better at waking away now then in my younger years.
nuckin_futz
Poker is fun, so is sports betting. However, I can tell you all there is no gambling like the gambling that goes on in financial markets. You can trade/gamble on just about anything. Throw in a healthy amount of leverage and you're a hero or a zero in no time. What's the most amount of money you've ever seen in play at a poker table? The currency market alone, trades $5 Trillion dollars a day. There's no comparison.
