Proposal - Depth RD (Van/Florida)

To Vancouver: Josh Brown 25 years old 6,5 215lbs right shot D who can fight (AHL player used for depth)

 

To Florida: Tim Schaller - 28 yr old 6,2 204lbs LW (has NHL experience and can fight)

I like this trade.

 

Both Brown and Schaller are depth guys likely to be stuck in minors unless required. So no big deal for either team.

 

VAN will likely have Gaudette, MacEwen, Eriksson, Goldobin in Utica. No need to hold onto Schaller as depth too.

 

RD is a position where we could use more depth for call ups.

 

Brown is only on $675k so means nil effect on our cap hit until he is called up, whereas Schaller’s AAV of $1.9m means there will be $825k of cap hit for him even when he is in Utica.

 

Cant hurt to have a bit more truculence too...

I like this trade. I love Biega but I feel like Brown could be an upgrade on him. Especially since he brings something not many players on defense can.

I wonder if Chase Priskie is on Benning's radar.  I think he will be be available after August 15th.

 

RHD PMD all the things we want to add.  Might be redundant with Stecher and now Rafferty, but I don't know. Right shot, 4th most ppg among NCAA defenceman, good enough size.  This would be a great add to our depth and maybe a great signing.

I've mentioned this a few times would be a great pickup for Vancouver if they can get him.
