Western Red
They almost got me earlier this year, they're getting a lot better. It's the elderly who're in a pinch that I worry about the most. What a heartless bunch of miscreants.

Sounds like an inside job by a city worker or a contractor working for the city. 1

The scammer probably made an email similar to the contractor's, sent new deposit info, and some clerk didn't notice and updated it. I bet they were as shocked at the scam working as we are hearing about it happening. Edited August 16, 2019 by 'NucK™
HerrDrFunk
My new favorite scam technique is the emails where they say they've installed malware on your computer and used it to make a video of you "enjoying" some type of embarrassing porn; which they'll of course distribute to everyone if you don't send them so-and-so Bitcoins. I always tell them "if you think that'll ruin me, you ain't done your homework". 3
falcon45ca
It's embarrassing. I am so fed up with this current municipal govt...they literally banned backyard fires cuz they received 300 complaints from 80 people about the smoke from their neighbors. An entire city of 250K can't have s'mores cuz of 80 bloody crybabies. Annnnnnd now they get scammed like a 90 year old grandma. I cant wait to see how they balance the books this year. It could be worse you could have ours here in Calgary. They are polling around 10% approval.

Anyone who ever tries to ask info from me or requests my info I tell them - ill visit their office if I feel the need. Its sad you can't trust the word of someone these days. I wish I could get a job hunting these fraudsters down. To attempt something like this vs a city with its own police forward... man you have to have some serious gusto lol. Ghostsof1915
Dear City of Vancouver. Revenue Canada shows you owe $5 million dollars in back taxes. If you don't pay by August 31st, 2019. Legal proceedings will commence. Please send via e-pay to JoeSmith@hawtmail.ca

You pay $10,000 to a skid to set up. After the deposit wire it asap. I really want to work in fraud detection and or money laundering for the RCMP.
