BrazilianCanuck
I would hope that Keller signed for a bit less value. I'm wondering how much Boeser will get... now, if JB can sign Boes an 8-year 7-million contract, I'm all in

Keller isn't that good and Chayka isn't that smart. Interesting comparison. Horvat was awarded a 6 year deal (buying 2 UFA years) at 7.33% of cap, after producing 117 points in his first 231 games (0.51 points per game). Keller gets 8 years (buying 4 UFA years) at 8.77% of cap, after producing 114 points in his first 167 games (0.68 points per game). And Keller still has one year left (2019-20) on his his ELC. EDIT: Hard to say which deal is better, if you’re looking at values on the day these contracts were signed. We have the benefit of seeing Bo develop into a player who’s now worth more than his contract. Keller could easily do the same. In fact, it’s quite possible the Keller deal proves itself the better bargain over the long term (especially with those extra 2 UFA years). However, at this point in time, the Keller deal definitely carries risk, while Horvat has long since proven himself deserving of his contract. Not comparable anymore at all. This is not good for us IMO. Boeser's camp will look at this and demand alot more for sure . theo5789
If there is any comparison here, I'll guess Boeser gets 7.5-7.75 on a max term deal. A bridge deal (4 years) would be around 6.5 IMO.

Jesus christ. 63 Points in his rookie season though, long term I think it will be a good deal after the next CBA, salary cap probably goes up. An eight year deal with Boeser would be Ideal. Popular Post Baer.
To the people knocking his 47 points, that was team leading last year for them. With Kessel on his wing there is reason to believe he will top 60 points again this year. 1

cuporbust
This is exactly why I said they should sign Boeser before they give his camp more comparables like this .They should have signed him when they had Aho and Timo Myer as comparisons Edited September 4, 2019 by cuporbust

He has more points than Boeser in the last two years (by one, but still) and hasn’t missed a game in that time.

Yeah I’ve always been in the camp that thinks Boeser is worth 7.... This contract makes him worth 8-9 imho (which is too high). We’ll see what happens I guess.

This isn't good for the Boeser contract Who cares about PPG if Boeser isn’t in the lineup. Keller lead his team in scoring too. There’s every reason to think he’d match or exceed Boeser in PPG if he was in the same scenario.

grandmaster
This contract will serve as a comparable for the Boeser negotiations. Both roughly the same age and similar production. The team will argue that Boeser has never played a full season and never produced 65 or more points. Health may be an issue. The agent will argue that Boeser is now healthy and able to continue a higher point per game ratio. Bottom line, he will be signed somewhere around 7M for 5 to 8 years.

And then, only on an EIGHT year deal. Rumours were that Boeser's agent was asking for +/- $7m on a 4-5 year deal.
