Could be a call-up if there's injuries, but more importantly, he's a very decent AHL player.  Does have Calder Cup championship experience too.  Hopefully he can be a good player for Utica.

 

As for him playing the NHL, whether with Vancouver or others, he'll have to revamp his game to be an energy guy or more than willing to do whatever it takes.

Before everyone freaks out for good or bad, its quite clear this is just to fill a roster spot for scrimmages/camps. There are already way too many forward spots. That or this could be an audition for top time in Utica.

Can't hurt to give him a PTO.  I don't see a spot for him on the Canucks or with Utica but I guess that also depends on how confident management is with the prospects in Utica taking on larger roles this season.

Ray, before Landon's PTO:  the Canucks are ridiculously mismanaged; I don't have a clue what they are up to.

 

After Landon's PTO:  the Canucks' management team have turned things around in Vancouver; they have a good young core and lots of excellent prospects trying out for the team.

Ray is the best non-bias hockey commentators out there.  If he said anything negative about a team that's missed the playoffs for 5 years and has been one of the worst for the last three years then it was most likely warranted.  You watch the Canucks cut his son or sign him to Utica he won't say a damn thing negative about it.  C'mon guys, this is why we're one of the most mocked fan bases in the league.  Stop playing the dam victim all the time and take the rose colored glasses off for once.

Because people make jokes about a player on a PTO? Please. I'm thinking neither Landon nor Ray are on here reading the posts through a torrent of tears.

 

By the way, most fanbases have fans who defend their team and mock those who criticize them, so maybe put down the tiny violin you're playing for the poor, tormented Ferraros.
