Quantum
Not surprised, apparently he signed an AHL deal to play with the Rockford Ice Hogs back in April -- https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2019/04/kris-versteeg-signs-ahl-contract.html This PTO will give him a chance to see if he can ink an NHL deal. One year, league minimum -- probably starts in Rockford no matter what. Edited September 12, 2019 by Quantum

canucklehead44
Wow he is only 33 - I thought he was older and gone for longer. Actually his last full year in the NHL he had 41 points in 73 games between regular season and playoffs - not bad at all. He might still be able to contribute. D.B Cooper
What a bunch of goofs. Why cant they stop living in the past? Ive been a big hawks fan for years, but they are just loaded with bonehead moves these days.

Monty
Love Versteeg. One of my favourite players. Doubt he gets a contract, but would be an amazing story if he did manage to somehow crack the roster.
Dogcrazy
Proven winner back with the Hawks, he was good during the playoffs against us!

Then again... ....former players sure do love coming back to the Hawks as well. Blackhawks as an organization must be doing something right.

He's not gonna be on the NHL roster, they already have way too many forwards at this point. Versteeg already has a contract with Rockford, which is where he'll be playing this year. After this year, look for him to be working in player development or scouting.
N7Nucks
But he’s not even ultimate.
RakuRaku
Versteeg exemplifies a true casual worker in the NHL... "Now you see me, now you don't... and no, I'm not ready to that Costco job yet before retirement!" 1
