I suspect everyone was holding out for Marner to set the standard and realized the idiot running the Leafs has no chance of signing him due to the terrible contracts he's already handed out. We can't get into a situation like the Nylander hold out, we don't have the cap space for that. Boeser isn't going to risk not playing this year and then if there's a lockout year he'd be 2 years with no dough. Popular Post Provost Posted September 13, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted September 13, 2019 (edited) Well I think as much as Keller put a floor on what a deal would look like, to me, this should put a ceiling. $6.75x6 is pretty equal to $7.15x8... extra AAV for extra club control over UFA years. I love Boeser, but I trade him for Provorov straight up any day. A lot easier to get scoring on the wings than it is a D Man of that quality. Maybe we are in luck that the prices are coming down a little. If Boeser signs an exact deal with this term and AAV, I think he walks away with a solid deal that both sides should be happy with.
