You seem very hostile toward the victim here....not sure why that is.  If you're upset over the reporting (by the media), why all the hostility toward her?

How about giving her credit for DOING her job despite the fear that likely came with it?   She explained that her military training kicks in to some degree...I commend a woman who won't just crumble in fear and continues to do her job.  There is internet tough and there is real life tough...for me, she demonstrated real life tough and didn't buckle under pressure because her job called upon her not to.  I'd say she did well.

How would you have handled this?   She did everything protocol asked of her.

Cops/security personnel have to contend with these situations....even when there are armed/dangerous people they run toward danger, not away from it.  They don't know, in that moment, intent, etc.  So, perhaps she's doing a great job?  Despite the adversity that comes with the job...amplified by being a woman alone in isolation out there...she took charge of the situation.

There isn't video from outside of the incident...she's explained where cameras are located and the video is from inside the building.

And wow, you're stating that you're upset with the sexual connotation in reporting yet here you are, doing that very thing??  What, on earth, is this supposed to be about?  This is beyond unacceptable to me.

Please explain, because now I'm upset for the very same reasons you claim to be.

SMH at the level of sexism here - so absolutely inappropriate on every level.  I actually had to go back in a "did I really just read that?" way.

Just going to respond to the hostility part.

I think she is within her rights to file charges.

I also think she’s right to show daddy a thing or two about respect.

She’s done nothing wrong or worthy of criticism.

And man is she fit!

Definitely this young lady needs a different job.  Matthew’s trying to sneak into the girl’s car (under those circumstances) would scare any young woman, and most men.  Considering it’s the States, and many of these guards carry, AM is fortunate he didn’t get shot.

Well when I watched the body cam video of her, she said she's not allowed to carry a gun, so she has a knife just for protection, but she's not allowed to have a gun.

This is litigious harassment at its worst.

Would be nothing if Matthews was a nobody, there's no way its 'worth' anyone's time!

But this security guard knows he has money, as does her creepy lawyer.

This whole story from top to.. bottom, is scummy.

You might be on to something if she was suing Matthews; but she isn't.

Just for the record what Patrick Kane did to the cab driver was way worse then this, but many forget that already, this will be the same eventually, this is a nothing burger.

Probably because it was a decade ago and this is current?

I would love to see the written complaint (lawsuit) based on these facts.  What on earth would the legal basis be?  What is the tort?  What are her damages?

If what Matthews did qualifies as actionable, god help us.

It is actionable, did you not see the part where AM was charged with disorderly conduct?:sadno:

God help us if it's not.

You can't have groups of drunk people "targeting" someone late at night when they're in isolation and alone, doing their job.

Have you seen the reaction if someone at a football game tries to get on the field?    It's taken very seriously.

A woman in a locked car.

Drunken fun is one thing but if it focuses on someone in order to get a reaction?   As someone has suggested...try this stuff on a cop.  Then come back and tell me it's nothing.  After the fact and to those involved?  "But but but (butt?)...it was nothing".  To the person they directed this at?  They have no idea, at the time, of what's unfolding.  So it's a bit of an unfair advantage and there are many instances that start this way that escalate and quickly turn into something more serious.  So you can't decide after the fact...that's too late.

The facts as we know them

A bunch of drunk young adults including AM are walking down the street.

AM jiggles the door handle of a car with a lady in it.

After a brief period of time she gets out and starts giving him a verbal reprimand

AM walks away, then drops his pants, eposes his boxer shorts, grabs both "cheeks" and continues to walk away.

Some people look at it like "youthful high jinks"

Others see it as

Attempted break and enter

A possible prelude to a sexual assault.

I see it as more the latter than the former and I wasn't the lady in the car.

Simply put AM screwed up and has been charged, he will most likely be found guilty and any civil action taken by this security guard is more than warranted in this case.

I'll add I don't care who the drunk guy was, don't care about his so called fame or his "implied" privilege to be an idiot just because of his money or job.

I'm a single guy, no kids, But if that had been a daughter of mine I'd be picketing that condo until they kicked that drunken idiot out of the area, at the very least.

Yeah

I just wouldn't take a job as a security guard for a whole bunch of reasons, but whatever.

I'm clearly in the minority in not thinking this is a big deal. Like at all.

you're not a woman, how can you possibly know how she might have felt in that moment?

Few days late Stawns.

I didn't give a crap about his childish display then and I still don't, but you drag me back into this avalanche sized snowbank.

I hate the leafs as much as the next guy, but the whole overreaction scene to this is &^@#ing sad.

I agree that it's not some earth shattering thing, at all.  However, I don't think minimizing her reactions is fair........we aren't women, we don't know the feeling of being alone and approached by a group of intoxicated men at 2am.

And I do agree she probably shouldn't be putting herself in that job or situation if she has ptsd described as "severe"

Are you missing the point? This will be the same, current or not it will be forgotten.

Not if they release the video evidence. Then it'll be forever meme'd and found on every corner of the information superhighway.
