I agree with you btw Roger just adding to your point. Your body doesn't know the difference between pasta and M&M's they are all the same in the end.
thrago
Again with a side note. Cancer cells don't have a nucleus so they require alcohol as a form of power. Alcohol is produced from carbs so the belief is that by lowering your carb intake will lower your chance of getting cancer. This hasn't been proven as of yet the long term studies are on in the works now. We wont have definitive proof for many years however there is lots of empirical evidence that leads many medical researchers to believe this to be true. Thanks Will do. One thing I feel it is necessary to say is the last thing anyone should do is take some random persons advice on the internet. So please if any of the things I say interest you at all, I am glad that they got you thinking about this as my own personal belief is this is a healthy way of living. But if anything take the things I say and do your own research and decide if this is for you.
BrockBoester
Keto is a fad and it's horrible for you. Much like the Atkins diet. Can't believe this already has 6 pages. /thread! :D

Is it effective in losing weight, 100%. Long term health? I think not. Heart Disease is the #1 global killer. A diet high in animal fats is leading contributor. The key (as with everything in life) is a BALANCED diet. I was thinking the same thing. But I don’t know, man. If you’re body is burning more fat, because that is its primary fuel source, that would mean less fat in the system which would decrease the chance of arterial blocks its all counterintuitive, but, it just might be crazy enough to work I would like to see some studies on Keto and cholesterol levels, though

Coconuts
Can you drink on keto? I don't drink too often as a student who's always at school or work but I'm quite enthusiastic about hardbar.

I need to cut the pounds tho... Its not that you can't its just that you do it once in a while as almost a treat. You can go off the diet for a brief period it won't kill you at all but the idea is that you don't want to consume that food on a daily basis. The key is to keep your carbs under 20 grams a day how you eat them is up to you really. Edited September 27, 2019 by thrago

There are some keto friendly drinks out there now, a lot of people gravitate to those vodka sodas. I still enjoy a bit of whiskey time to time myself.

It’s not an unlimited fat or unlimited meat/cheese diet. Yes you get lots of those things. But greens/vegetables still need to be part of your diet. Appreciate your insight in this thread. I haven’t disagreed with anything you’ve said. Just adding to it and clarifying what I believe are some misconceptions about Keto. People seem to have a tendancy to think this diet is like the Carnivore or Atkins when really its more similar to the paleo. Its just the removal of as many carbs as you can while you eat lots of veggies and meat. 1
Stelar
Have tried this for a couple of weeks a couple of times. Could barely get up and down the ice. Felt bagged. Maybe I didn’t do it long enough. Definitely dropped the pounds though.

gerry35
In this thread we have people that have tried it and are disciplined have had great results and those who have no idea what they are talking about being negative. Aggressive ignorance is what it is. Everyone here can do what they wish of course but I'm going to keep going ahead with this because it works. Not all fats are good, some are downright dangerous such as margarine and pretty much every type of cooking oil you can buy except olive, avocado and coconut. Animal fats are excellent for you, I have whole cream cream and berries quite often too and occasionally yogurt as well. When you find out almost everything we were taught about food is wrong it will make you angry. All these weird autoimmune diseases and the spike in heart attacks and numerous other diseases started to go up when what's called the "standard American diet" was implemented. 1
