ABNuck
Was gonna suggest some sort of Eriksson for Alzner (with MTL retaining) type deal but it looks like Karl has cleared so might not be as attractive to MTL now.

Re-entry waivers were so stupid. Teams shouldn't get punished for doing a good job of helping develop a player in the AHL.

Best of luck to Hicketts, likely too small for the NHL, but maybe could have a solid career in Europe. This isn't 1995. The NHL is soft now. Size will have nothing to do with his success in today's game.

Always going to be an uphill battle for a 5'8 defenseman. Certainly some do make it, but it isn't easy.
Quantum
I can see a team taking a chance on Joe Hicketts. It won't be the Canucks but I could see someone doing it.

It wouldn’t have been attractive to Montreal to begin with. Montreal already has too many forwards. I don’t see where Ericksson would fit into their line-up. Having Alzner in the minors as insurance against a bunch of injuries on D isn’t a terrible thing. Add in that you want Montreal to retain on Alzners $4.6m cap hit on top of taking Erickssons $6 million cap hit and it’s a deal that makes zero sense for Montreal. You'd think he'd make the waives by now JB has until Tuesday 2pm to make a deal or two involving any of Goldobin, Virtanen and Sutter... hang tight!

VforVasili
Seems foolish to send guys down until we have to. Never know if someone is going to get injured in practice and change everything.
JeremyCuddles
The NHL 14 All Star team. Some names that had some potential and never got anywhere with it. I always enjoy seeing the waiver wire folks this time of the year. Seeing the guys that carried my teams in past EA games LOL
