Maybe it's just me.. but I think Hughes would benefit from some time in Utica.

I honestly don't.  At all.  He needs to just settle in and sending a message of "you're not ready yet" could really mess with him.  I think he's showing he is....the team's hardly played together and will start to synch up over time.  They're new to each other and he's showing he is not afraid to strut his stuff out there.  Let him go, straight out of the gate.

I saw too much of it through the 90's watching the Devils. I know. Same guy is running the team on the Island now. Don't believe in coincidences.
Enjoy the game!

Has nothing to do with 'coincidences'.

In the trap era, a team could not pass the puck from behind the blueline beyond center ice/the red line - they could congest half the neutral zone and stifle puck movement.

There is no comparison in the modern NHL where teams literally have more than twice the territory to move the puck / the freedom to stretch pass.

The Devils were giving up 160ish goals season when the NHL decided to change the rules.

If you can't score now, you can't blame "the trap" - it aint the same, and there's no comparable excuse.

My only concern after seeing Draisitl manhandle him is that he really, really needs to bulk up.  We need to be careful who we're giving him as a partner to shelter him.
