I feel the only reason he was a 1st round pick, was given all this expectation and opportunity was the fact he is 6'6 and 230+ pounds. 

 

If he was 6'0 190 no one would've batted an eye imo. Either way, I'd give him a shot over a guy like Schaller.

But if he probably would've cleared if Vancouver wanted to send him to Utica, cause if another team claimed him, wouldn't they have to have him on their roster?

Waivers are designed to give players an opportunity to stay in the NHL.  The point isn’t to let other teams claim a player destined for the AHL and reroute that player to their own minor league team.

Unless you’re Toronto :bigblush: bench a guy so long that some how he is qualified to be sent to AHL for a conditioning stint.
