The trip on Petey that led to the short handed goal was a big turning point. I really didn't see the Canucks take their foot off the gas that much though. Their 3rd period against the Rangers was far worse, the only thing they did worse was Marky didn't make the saves when he needed to. The caps only had 6, yes 6, shots on goal in the 3rd. The team actually played a pretty tight D for most of it. On the two point shot goals, 9 times out of ten the D block them or Marky makes the save. It was a deflating collaps, but I have trouble blaming many of the players for it. If you hold an opponent to 6 shots in the 3rd, that's a pretty good effort at closing it out. Pearson was terrible, no way would I have given him OT time or a SO spot.
