Cosmopolitan Hotel:  Hello Evander?  You owe us some money.

Evander Kane:  Hello....who is this?  The line is really fuzzy......CLICK

A Las Vegas casino is looking for payback, literally, from Evander Kane nearly seven months after the forward and his San Jose Sharks teammates eliminated Vegas in a first-round Stanley Cup playoff series.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Cosmopolitan casino on Monday filed a lawsuit in Clark County District Court for $500,000 US, claiming the 28-year-old Vancouver native failed to pay back gambling markers when the Sharks were in town in late April.

The lawsuit alleges Kane withdrew eight markers between $20,000 and $100,000 US around April 15, or in between Games 3 and 4 of the opening-round playoff series in Las Vegas.

The allegations have not been proven in court.

In an addition to the $500,000, the Cosmopolitan also seeks repayment of legal fees.

who did he bet against?

The lawsuit just says he borrowed money that he never paid back.  The only way we'll find out the actual bets is if someone from the casino wants to try and embarrass him.  Hopefully for him it wasn't NHL bets because I'd imagine the NHL would frown on that.

All fun & games until the privileged sports figure feels he's existing in some DePalma/Scorcese flick.

I guarantee he's hoping they'll settle for less in court.  Since it's being prosecuted right in Clark County, I'd be surprised if the casino caved in and took less money.

The Casino should hire Dustin Byfuglien and Ryan Reeves to collect. I could see them enjoying dangling Kane out a highrise window by his ankles.

Byfuglien is getting up there in age.  Though much smaller, Kane actually knows a bit about boxing and can throw them  (some of his family has a background in boxing, he's actually named after Evander Hollyfield).  It wouldn't be as big a mismatch a fight as you'd think.

What a waste of talent though (Kane).  Though he still has 13 points in 13 games for the Sharks this season so far.

The cosmopolitan is owned by the Blackstone group. They just bought the Bellagio a couple weeks ago. Not smart on his part, I’m sure there’s some scary characters in behind the scenes that don’t like being played for $500,000.

Would not be the least bit surprised if one day he just kind of goes missing.
