Keslers reign as the only Selke winner in franchise history about to end. But by who?

As it stands, the Canucks are arguably the most dominant team in the NHL. Our success this year has to be largely attributed to our 3 elite two way forwards... (not to mention our stellar D and Goaltending)

 

So CDC... which of our 3 gladiators will end Kesler's reign of being the only Selke winner in franchise history?

 

• Elias is probably 1st in Selke voting if it ended today... so he's probably the easy choice
• JT ha to be top 3 himself.
• Bo had a very slow start but he's gone beast mode and should be in the running as well. I'd have him in the top 5 currently but I could see him JT and Pete all finished 1, 2, 3 on route to the cup.

 

 

Lastly, I'd like to give some respect to Ryan... he gave us 10 incredible years whether it was as a Moose or a Canuck. I know his final year wasn't great and we all hated him for it... but it's time we let go and celebrate the 10 years he gave us.

 

I'm not saying go hang Kesler posters everywhere, but cut the guy some slack. Kes was all in as a Canuck for a decade and not many people took the 2011 loss harder than he did - proof is below.

 

 

For the record he got robbed of the Selke the year before. He outscored and out played Datsyuk all year T_____T

Bo will definitely win a Selke or two.  Petey will win the Hart, Conn Smyth, and Art Ross.  Miller will win a Conn Smyth.  Hughes wins a Conn Smyth, and several Norris.

Marky wins a Vesna or two.

actually I think Elias is the closest to win it.  I doubt this season, but maybe. But some season in the future for sure.  He is already our best two way player.

While I enjoy the enthusiasm, I feel like your predictions are way off base.  Sure they are off to a great start, but I haven't seen anything I would call Selke worthy.

I think Petey is more likely to win a Selke than Bo. Not because Bo isn't a very solid 2-way forward... but Petey makes some amazing and noticeable defensive plays, while still putting up big numbers. Only knock is he doesn't kill penalties.

You're definitely right to some extent... I've gone over board and I guess I have a reputation as a homer... but you're telling me Petey isn't a lock for top 3 in Selke voting?

 

Forget that I said JT Bo Petey finish 1, 2, 3 in voting. Although I think they should

Not in Petey's league. It's the 2019-2020 season.

 

The Frank J. Selke Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game.  So far Petey is the front runner if you ask me

My drinking scare came at 22,000 feet.  I was taking my first skydiving jump.  My stupid parachute didn't open, and I accelerated like a furry (and cute, of course) bullet toward imminent death.  Luckily, and still the reason I only drink Scotch, I landed in a backyard pool that was completely full of scotch.  Literally Scotch saved my life!

Not in Petey's league. It's the 2019-2020 season.

I'm not comparing the 2018-2019 season... or the one before that or the one before that... I'm talking about 2019-2020

 

It's not hard to believe 34 year old bergeron is regressing.

 

Petey is playing far better than Bergeron and you can argue his wingers aren't as good as Pastrnak or Marchand. Bergeron probably has half the points this year if he played on another line.
