Popular Post Dazzle
For all the bad stuff that happened this road trip, Virtanen has been a good story so far. He went from an ineffective/inconsistent forward to a pretty good player. He has scored a few goals so far in this stretch. He has a few gamewinners. He's also hit the post a lot too. On top of this, he's making decent plays and isn't hurting the team with bad plays. I truly believe Virtanen has turned the corner and now 'gets it'. Let's hope he keeps this up. Podzilla
Finally has some confidence and is getting his man strength. Green needs to give him some more ice time. He should be on the point on the 2nd pp unit. He has a heavy shot and can catch up to anyone to prevent a breakaway. Also should be playing 3 on 3. Wouldn’t mind seeing him on the pk as well. Would get a lot of breakaways and opposing d men will have to be weary of that when he’s on the ice. 1
Blömqvist
Almost 1/4 of the season in and Virtanen has had significantly more good games than bad. He's hit the post a few times and his teammates haven't been able to convert on his set-ups, so he could have had a few more points. Definitely much better at puck retrieval, stripping the puck away from opponents, and playing hard to protect the puck when he has it. Very consistent night-in/night-out in those three aspects. I wish he was a bit more physical, but I can't be too picky. 18 minutes ago, Elias_Pettersson said: Finally has some confidence and is getting his man strength. 189lb enforcers?
Happy for Jake. He’s a streaky buggar though. 1

Disagree I bet he’d be terrible getting the puck back or defending in all that open space. He does well on takeaways 5-5, but I can’t see his game translating at 3-3. Would love to see him out there before any of the project players TG keeps sending out there. I’d rather he get the shot and the fun. BC would agree. 6string
The way he approaches the game is more suited for the 80's, I'll get in shape through preseason and the first twenty games. His value to the club may be fading. The Canucks can climb the standings without his presence in the lineup while his value as a sixth overall has declined in the market. Only Jake controls his future, I'm not bashing him but he needs to better, more consistent and invested. I am hoping for his first twenty plus goal scoring season, still early!

Yeah wtg JB.. i always has confidence that he would begin to mature from being around professional players who take it seriously to become the best players that they can be and it's paying off as some of us knew it would eventually but he's starting to peak and he's not done.. was a good pick.. Speaking of JB.. looking like a hero and rightfully so on the JT miller deal.. only 3 points behind at 13th spot in the scoring derby.. Great pick up.. worth more than what we paid for, and everybody said the opposite.. laughs on them now! We already won before that anyway when JB stole Pods.. i'm still giddy about that one.. Petey Pods and Hoglander. With Petey, JT Bo with Boes? Looks good to me!! Good on ya Jimbo! 1

Mathew Barzal
Hope he can add some finish to his game. He creates so many opportunities for himself I'd hate to see him follow in the mold of so many other speedsters who can't put the puck in the net. 1
LowerMainLander18
You can tell he gained a lot of confidence. He's not so quick to get rid of the puck anymore. I like what I am seeing finally. His positioning away from the puck improved as well but I still think that's kind of interfering with his involvement in plays but I am just glad I am seeing improvements overall.
