I just watched game right now on pvr. the way Hughes manned that PP it was a thing of beauty.. his game is so mature. Can't believe he's so young... Marky was stellar but this team has so much talent and puck movement was spot on.. WSH is a Cup team. They will be very difficult.. look forward to the game.. Quinn owns the blue line and sees the ice in a remarkable way, he absolutely shows patience and poise beyond his years, I fully agree. Those same abilities are on display when our PP is ice cold as well. I don't believe we were the better team 5v5 last night but I still enjoyed the win despite my belief we were extremely fortunate to win, let alone bury 5 PP goals. Morning games are awful. I'm not expecting much tomorrow. It would be truly amazing if the Canucks play a good game tomorrow. I'm expecting them to get shut out but am excited to watch and hope to be wrong about the score.

Maybe, if Green would play Hughes in the final 10 minutes of games we wouldn't be running around so much in our own end, and have possession of the puck? I'd play Hughes an Tanev and Eddy and Myers if we're shortening the bench to hold a lead. He gets knocked around some in traffic. It's a matter of getting him protected minutes

I don't have stats to reference, but it seems to me that Quinn is the best Canuck at getting the puck out of our zone, first pass or skate, but he's just not the best at successful retrievals. When he doesn't get around that first check he struggles to battle it out. He'll get stronger and even more crafty in time.

It is frustrating right now how many passes he makes from the blue line that are not in the right spot for Boes or Petey. When that pass starts clicking, watch out league! Not knocking Quinn, he is the right guy to have on PP1 now and in the future, and he does some phenomenal play at the line stickhandling and keeping the puck in the zone. who knows, maybe it is as much on the shooters as it is on Quinn's passing. When Quinn and his targets can figure out their positioning and passing for the one-timer, it's gonna be great! Hughes is the best PP player we have right now. Boeser and Petey both need to learn more than Quinn does (not saying there aren't things he can improve upon too). The big thing right now and all season is Boeser and Petey being stationary. They start roving up and down and changing the angles, the powerplay will become one of the deadliest in the league for years to come. 1 1

When those passes start to click, its gonna be sweet to see.

It would be nice if he got the same breaks as other players who deserve those breaks less than Jake does. Gets crap mins and little to no special teams or ot time and is still on pace for 20-25 goals. I actually hope you're right

I don't care how they got there...the fact that they did is what I'm satisfied with. I'll worry about the next game...next game. We heard about the tough schedule and how easy it had been when we were winning. Now we beat a team that was supposedly part of that tough schedule and...it wasn't good enough. I'm seeing a pattern here. Calgary's on a huge skid, Toronto fired their coach because their results have been horrible. It's very much all over the map and the ONLY thing that counts is...the point totals. There's definitely some reason for skepticism, but this was a big win. Hopefully such a big special teams night will give the PP sustained confidence. Some of these games we've dropped lately there's been opportunities for the PP to be the difference. Even if we aren't great 5 on 5 but can stick around in games our PP can be our edge. Just need to find that consistency. Like I said, hopefully this is the confidence boost they needed to be a consistent weapon for us.

Its crazy how last year Pettersson was running it from the 'Henrik' spot, and did so well. But now Quinn Hughes steps in and instantly runs the PP. Everything seems to go through or go back to him, he gets more touches than Petey. Its a big compliment to Hughes. Its such a young group, you can understand confidence wavering & them trying to get too cute. Then they simplified & it worked, that should be a lesson for them. When they're playing with confidence they're moving the puck quickly and accurately. When they lose confidence, as they have been in Nov, they overthink and hold on to the puck.........Brown can remind them on the bench and work in practice (when they actually get practice time), but the players on the ice are, ultimately, the ones who have to execute. You're telling me you can't work on practice of actually moving your skates? If that's on the players then don't play them on the powerplay.
