Monty
That cap hit for Coyle is a joke, right? 6 years? WTF Boston 1
Provost
Seems kind of rich for Coyle, a 15 goal, 40 point guy at best, and probably not that as he hits the wrong side of 30 in the latter half of that contact. I guess he “can” play centre or wing so is fairly versatile... Edited November 27, 2019 by Provost
HKSR
The way I see it is this... If the B's got it right with these contracts... well then F THEM! If the B's got it wrong with these contracts.... well then LOL! and F THEM! - Signed by a Canucks Fan
PhillipBlunt
Coyle's only getting that type of scratch because he's from Bahston. What an overpayment.
EternalCanuckFan
Coyle was heading into UFA years so I guess they're banking on him turning into a 40-50+ point guy consistently. $5.25M per year seems a bit high when you consider JT Miller is being paid that amount but there are quite a few players in that price range who produce at that level. He produced quite well in last year's playoffs so that might be another factor. Edited November 27, 2019 by EternalCanuckFan
RonMexico
The league and the PA announced it wouldn't re-open the CBA for another few years so expect more of the same kinda overpayments in term and dollar value.
xereau
That's a bad contract.
Herberts Vasiljevs
I think Coyle is pretty underrated but damn.... that's a pretty hefty contract. Edited November 27, 2019 by Herberts Vasiljevs 1
ruilin96
Coyle’s contract proves that JT Miller isn’t a cap dump. He is a good player under a very good contract for multiple years hence why the Canucks had to give up assets to get him.

Coyle is a Bruin type player and was incredible in last year's POs. Would love him on our team, but for the hefty contract.

canuck73_3
I like Coyle and he's a good fit in the Boston system, but he's either going to nearly match his salary in play or this will blow up in the Bruins face. Slim margin at that cap hit imo
