I don’t think Green finishes the season here. I’m interested to see what he says in the post game presser, taking some responsibility for an irretrievably stupid decision would be a good start. Yikes.

If I recall, and I am sorry of I get this wrong because I had a major concussion, the talk at the time to bring Green up was that he was a great development coach for us.  We are transitioning past that now, and a different coach may be prudent. I wanted them to bring Crawford back but I was not the one making decisions.

Crawford is terrible.

I think it's time to start shopping Sutter. He's been with us going on 5 seasons and in the previous 4 he has only managed to dress for 57% of the games. He's a good player but he is too injury prone. I'd rather have someone that actually plays  utilizing that cap space at this point. As soon as he's healthy again he should be traded asap.

He's had a pretty solid season thus far, so he may actually have regained some of his value. Point is that we need our defensive specialist to be reliable, and Sutter most definitely isn't that.

Basically, what we need is a version of Sutter that can actually stay healthy.

So where are the Green supporters now?

- for some unknown reason he decides Demko is his number 1 goalie after Marky wins 2 in a row

-he does not pull Demko after it was clear he was shaky (JG and Malkin goals were bad) and the team was collapsing. Instead he waits until the game was already tied

- he challenges the offside then shakes his head like he knows he has no hope. Great poker player move. basically tells Toronto he knows it’s a good goal...and if he knew that he takes a 2 minute penalty

Travis Green is not a good coach

He demonstrated it tonight

Marky was ill...

True but when we start tossing around names would you rather have those 5 in your lineup or Crosby...

This is coming down to coaching, 110%, in my opinion.

Not as much as who's out. We're missing an entire NHL bottom 6. That's a pretty big blow. We have AHLers and young guys making them up to check a red hot Malkin's line and a Penguins team with a better winning percentage without Crosby. Our PK was top 5 with Beagle and Sutter and Ferland is still top 5 in hits on our team playing 12 games I think with Motte leading us in that department last year. We all know how good Roussel was before his injury.

You bring in a new coach with this soft of a lineup and this lack of defensive forwards in our bottom 6 we are still gonna lose a lot of games. Nobody to bring in spark our help the defensemen out.

Not saying coaching hasn't been a problem but they're far from the main issue. If we start losing games like that with a full lineup consistently then fire the coach.

It's Green's job to make sure that the players are skating and putting the effort in. It's his job to utilize his timeouts and challenges effectively. It's his job to make sure the players are ready to start the game. It's his job to make sure the players aren't playing passive hockey.

And assuming Green isn't the problem, what't the solution then? Get rid of all of the players that just happen to all be playing lame, passive hockey at the same time?

He was cheap filler while we rebuild, we now has some talent here, let’s get a talented coach.

Missing the point so I'll just let it go. Lol.

No no, I get it lottery pick and all, but at least he (JB) showed Petey and Boes and Bo that he believes in them as the core by adding to their top 6 and not wasting another year barely making the playoffs.

Again, I think we have a playoff team if we had half a coach on the bench.

St louis won the cup with a rookie goaltender after a coaching change, lets just wait to bottom out like they did though, before we let go of Green. Makes sense.

it’s November and this team is young.

todays game is part of the Canucks growing up....they are still nhl mentally immature.

it’s called growing pains

Absolutely. We got dismantled by a very skilled and veteran laden team that has one time and time and again. Their youth are being led by bona fide legends. Our guys are still learning we have to give them time.

I want to point fingers and blame people. I’m just so darn angry right now...

No I’m not. It was one of those games. Looked like a young team out there with there top 2 defensive centres out to me. Playing against a hot Pittsburgh team.

Looking forward to beating the oilers this weekend.

Enjoy your crying guys. Have a good night

Free the offensive, dont bench our young talent and try to sit on a lead ffs.

The team tried to sit on a 1-1 tie, they routinely run Pearson and Leivo in crunch time, the PP game plan has exclusively been drop pass even when we have guy's that can skate like Hughes and Jake, and the defensive zone structure seems to be "5 men in the slot, wave your sticks and that's it". Nothing about this coaching staff surprises me.

I understand it might be trying times for Boeser. But at the same time he has to do his job and play hockey. He half-asses so many plays. His poor effort level is very noticeable, especially when you see EP and Miller busting their ass every shift.

I don't agree with trading him but i agree with the rest of what you said.

I know he's slow, but he's not even skating hard out there, floating around and hoping for a pass from Petey.
