sonoman
My sweetie is a kiwi and heading back for a visit in a couple of months. Hopefully no more in the near future. I remember waking up to 3 booms in Victoria in 1980 as Mount St. Helens blew its top. Hundreds of miles away and it still woke us up.
SabreFan1
Hopefully they died immediately from toxic superheated fumes because the other two ways are burning to death in lava or land drowning with lungs full of ash and very tiny jagged pieces of rock. It wasnt any of that, it was super heated water. severe burns from the water is most of the injuries.

Scottish⑦Canuck
Some of the victims have 90 percent burns. For reference the palm of your hand is 1.5 percent. I can't even imagine the pain. I question why tour groups were allowed to operate when the seismic activity was recorded to have increased and the alert level risen.
