coastal.view
NEWS: Taylor Hall and Blake Speers to ARI in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, third-round selection (conditional) in 2021, D Kevin Bahl and F Nick Merkley and Nate Schnarr — New Jersey Devils (@NJDevils) December 16, 2019 so to be clear and so we are all talking about the same thing hall and spears to arizona (2 assets) for bahl, merkley, schnarr, 1st round pick, and conditional 3rd rounder (that might become a 1st rounder) (5 assets) ***** i think this is a steep price for a rental but if hall resigns a decent contract it is pretty fair value hall is not the player coilers traded to devils with devils hall's points per game average increased and he won a league mvp he was sure to return more then larssson but that hall larrson deal was still a huge mistake by the oilers.. they did not get enough

Could just as well end up being the next Hodgson or Gaunce they traded for Miller... As of RIGHT now, Miller is more important to this team than Horvat is on the ice, so even if the pick does end up being a Horvat, we wouldn't have lost that trade by TOO much. And that is a BIG if for the pick to become a Horvat. 3

CanuckinEdm
The grand scheme of things New Jersey traded Adam Larson for the lottery cheat code which got them Hughes, Hischier, a first, 3 Ok prospects, and a conditional pick which could be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Not bad New Jersey not bad.

HKSR
That's a big price to pay for just Hall, luckily they got Speers too. That makes it all better.... ... I think...?
24K PureCool
Zona is gonna regret this. I'll laugh my bottom off if they somehow misses the playoffs cause you know that first is gonna be a top 3 pick with hall on the roaster.
Maddogy
My biases: - I am philosophically against the Miller trade because the core players are still too young to lead this team - I thought the Miller trade was somewhat of an over payment considering the situation Tampa was in, but this is difficult to judge as I did not know how many teams for vying for Miller at the time - It is too early to call this season off, if other teams can have an amazing win streak to come back from the dead, this team can as well My opinion: Arizona overpaid for Hall. Miller is younger, more physical, can play centre, can kill penalties and is locked into a decent contract. Hall is injury prone and in certain aspects one-dimensional. Worst of all Hall is merely a rental at this point. Edited December 16, 2019 by Maddogy
