kenhodgejr
To Vancouver: Ross Johnston, 2020 5th round pick To NYI: Brandon Sutter, Sven Baertchi Why we do it: We have Gaudette to replace Sutter. We shed some salary and find a home for Baertchi. When we play a team like vegas we don't have any heavyweight fighters to answer the bell. Johnston is probably top 3 toughest fighters in the NHL. He hardly ever looses. If we get in the playoffs we will need someone who can beat up the other teams goons if need be... Johnston is a depth LW that Green could use when we need a bouncer on the ice. He is 6'5 235lbs and he likes to beat people up Islanders get two good team guys that can be slotted up and down the line up and will compliment other players on the team. qwijibo
Islanders are doing great. They neither have the cap space or the need to take 2 cap dumps from Vancouver

You need toughness not persay a goon but if you run with the line up we have the risk of injury to 1 of our better players will increase significantly imo. Don't need goons, need a couple guys that play hard, hit harder and will drop the gloves regardless if a top player gets hurt. This team is still in the Sedin mindset imo, make em pay on the PP. Well, that didnt work in 2011, and it sure is risky to continue to play like that in the playoffs when the whistles get put away. Be interesting to see how we would match up in a 7 game series vs Vegas for instance
