Kanukfanatic Posted January 3, 2020 Share Posted January 3, 2020 Half way through the 2nd period I was thinking that Hughes looked tired. When he was on the ice he was not his usual self. I was thinking that he has already played more games in half a season then he played all year last year. Then Hughes kicked it up 3 gears and kills it on the powerplay and for the rest of the game!! Then about half way through the 3rd period JT Miller went through a 5 minutes stretch where he tried to make overly fancy plays 3 times and they all failed. hobart16 Posted January 3, 2020 Share Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Hawks played well but just not deep enough of a team and they got bounced around after the timeout. Beagle and Gaudette lines started taking the body. Those top players for Chicago are still legit. Canucks were sloppy but effort was there at all times. Erickson solid again. Not so sure about Schaller. Virtanen gets to the puck and carries it well but he is still turnover prone. If he can clean that up watch out. Fantenberg struggled. Vinny in Vancouver Posted January 3, 2020 Share Posted January 3, 2020 Great play by Bo in the last 15 seconds to absorb the strong shot and have the presence of mind to immediately stand up and look for the puck and then shoot a tough shot through the opposing d-man. That's such a Bo play. Btw, is there a site that tracks the number of goals banked off of other people? Wild scoring chances, goals galore, some unfortunate bounces, couple close calls injury wise.That's got to be one of the best Hawks Canucks games we've seen since our rivalry with them cooled off. Knew I was either going to be very happy or very frustrated at the end of the night, thank you Gaud and Bo for putting it away at the end. Canucks are on one heck of a roll right now, and on another note, how about that Nils Hoglander? Kid is tearing it up at the world junior.
