Even Pettersson has done this (god love Petey). You will never stop this. Players who compete never give up on a puck. Doesn't matter if they're near the blue pain or at the top of the D zone, they're going to try and get infront of the shot. I know sometimes down low they look stupid but you know what looks even worse? When they jump out of the way.

You mean like this coward, loser, who is (likely) hated by his hard working, die for the cause teammates.  Even Mrs. Alf, who is an insane Leaf’s fan, can’t stand this pretty boy.

I usually play defenseman but one day the one of our goalies couldn't come so I decided I would play goalie so we could start the game.

Was way tougher than I thought. I relied a lot on playing well positionally and cut off the angle. At first the players couldn't score on me cause I gave them nothing to shoot at.

Afterwards the players on the other team adapted and came in close range and did all these dekes around me which in my opinion are very hard to stop as a goalie cause you have no idea where the puck will end up till its too late. My team still won the game by one goal but it was a hard fought win.

The thing that surprised me the most was the amount of focus and attention you need even when the puck is in the other end. You always have to know where the puck is and it is very mentally draining. I was totally exhausted by the end  (more exhausted than when I play defense). When your defense, you can at least change but when your goalie, your on there for long periods of time. Our 60 min game only had one 5 min intermission cause we started late so it sucked playing goalie.

After that experience, I am very reluctant to criticize goalies and gained a lot of respect for them.

It is so true in life in general -before criticize someone try to see things from this person perspective...
