all yall sleeping on schenn still

cool, we're in a playoff spot rn, but who's to say that the team isn't banged up to hell come april, and he's taken by another team-- when we could use that big body when playoff hockey is slowed down and tight. thats where he'd be the biggest asset where youth and speed can only take you so far in the west. sure the blues won the cup with it, but they also had durability and toughness

@oldnews I have to admit that TONIGHT is the first time I have seen in over 3 seasons, where LE is playing up to his calling card.

its been like “where’s Waldo” with him..

classic Loui goal right there. Great effort all game. This is what I've been hoping for.... only question is it sustainable? if it is I still say thats as good as a trade.

Team depth is huge in the playoffs.  Problem is, is if Schenn joins the team, they have too many Ds and would have to trade/waive a RD. I'm not sure that a team going into the playoffs would want to trade Tanev or Stech and replace either with Schenn.  Maybe someone knows what Shenn's status (capwise)  if they moved him within the AHL(Utica).  Regardless, if they want him, he could probably be picked up closer to the TD.

if you really wanted to add Schenn, it was correct to wait for him to clear. Now we can get him and keep him in Utica until he's needed and not mess with the 23 man roster.

Because we have two injury prone players that we’ve been lucky to have healthy this long... kinda bother...

But Luke would hold an NHL spot that we don't currently have anyway. We pick him up and waive him and Tampa claims him back and it's pointless anyway. We will deal with whatever issue if/when they injured (knock on wood) and there will be plenty of Luke Schenns available and I doubt a Luke Schenn is going to make the difference for us if we lose a key player.

People quickly forget how terrible he once recently was and now he's back to the AHL once again.

Cmon Jimmy,  this is his 4th season isn’t it?

for me I don't care about the last 3, I care about the now when we need someone with Bo. If I wanted to stay mad about the last 3 or 4 seasons Loui's a lot further down my list.

respects to him for trying to chase a Stanley cup, he signed for bare minimum so he actually doesn't care about money.

it doesn't work that way though, he is on waivers to be sent down to the ahl, if we want to send him to the ahl we have to waive him first.

I know that..but even if another team picked him up it's no loss 4 us and worth a go IMO

If we were to pick someone from waivers, would we only pay for half the salary? I'm not to smartened up about the business side of things, or did they change the rules, or was that never a thing lol

I think you are referring to the recall waivers where if a player gets recalled from the AHL, a team can claim that player for 50% of the cap hit.

I believe that was removed back during the '05 lockout.

True - but (and this is no 'excuse') it may be the only point at which his performance actually  matters.

I personally couldn't really care less about the results the past few years in the midst of rethinging.

If LE can pick it up from here forward, I'd be happy to forget the past (and even happier, if = the degree to which he becomes moveable).

I believe we’d be stuck with his cap hit and salary prorated for the remainder of the season.

Correct, except it was canned later on (not the 05 lockout).
