It's that time of the season where I start looking at who is playing who on off nights between Canucks games.

Rather than people posting in GDT and PGT about other teams etc, why not here?

I will try to update this with coming games, and then the scores.

Good thing is that at this point Canucks does not need any help to get into post season. The team controls its destiny.

Something like 15-10-6 for 36 points would do it , probably even 13-12-6 .

13-3 in our last 16, so things are looking up.

Jan 30 2020 - LA at ARI - 6:30pm

LA up 1-0 after 1st

Cheering for Pouty makes skin crawl, but it is what it is.

This post idea is far better then the magic number tread, pin this one, and then some one should do a magic number thread 10-15 games out

To add to the intrigue, according to sportsclubstats.com, these games have the following effects on the Canucks' playoff chances:

NAS vs NJD = -0.1% because NAS won in SO

LAK vs ARI = +0.1% because ARI lost in OT

BUF vs MTL = no effect

So overall, tonight was pretty even for the Canucks playoff chances.

Who would have thought a year ago, that this season, after the All Star break, that this team would be in control of its own destiny for the year.

If we just match record with the rest of the teams in the division for the rest of the season, we will finish first in the Pacific.

How cool and awesome is that?

Tonight, the only really meaningful game for the Canucks overall chances of making the playoffs is the Vegas vs. Carolina game.

Because Vegas won, our playoff chances went down 0.3%

With Edmonton winning against St. Louis as well, it was a bad scoreboard watching night.

I cant tell if you dislike my thread or felt discouraged by the comments in my thread? Its already created, why would anyone “create” one with 10-15 games left when one already exists?

No just thought yours was a little to early for a magic number thread, with out the right context to it , now that you have posted more content people can really see where the Canucks stand without having to do it themselves. That's why I upvoted your post now. The content you had before just didn't say enough about where the Canucks stand now, the column on you spread sheet showing pts on pace now gives much more clarity.
