No it's not.  The Seattle NHLers could select him in the expansion draft if he agrees to waive his NMC.  He could be a hero in Seattle like MAF is in Vegas.

Lots of if's there, he would be a hero in his own province don't you think Canucks win cup before Seattle?

Once again. Montreal has no motivation to make this trade. He struggled early in the season but he’s been on fire since December. “Now or never” doesn’t cut it as a reason

explain why red sox and dodgers deal happened then, Habs do not have a window to win in next 3 years, this gives them ability to make playoffs next year

How do yo figure? Markstrom and Price are at best a wash. And that’s assuming Montreal is able to re-sign him. Domi is probably a better overall piece than Boeser. Kovalchuk is actually a very effective top 6 winger  Eriksson is a cap dump. Stetcher is a bottom pairing D.  How does that give them the ability to make the playoffs next yest over what they already have?

back end of price contract will be a dump too, but plan would enable Canucks to win cup before they pay that piper, gives Habs assets and flexibility

But it doesn’t give Montreal any better assets than they already have. In fact. It eats up true last available contract spot since they’re already at 49/50

debatable ,  Bergevin likes to deal big, what would he want then

Bergevin doesn’t see Price as a piece he wants to move.  He’s not accepting calls on him

Pittsburgh reportedly inquired whether Domi was available before trading  for Zucker and were told he’s no. He’s not available.  So that leaves Kovalchuk for a 2nd.

Read my earlier post.  Bergevin said Subban wasn’t being shopped. He said he won’t even listen to offers on Price. Totally different t.

Gretzky was sold more than traded. And it was a different era before NTC/NMC , before salary cap.  It literally couldn’t be any more different from today’s NHL.

jimmy Carson would disagree, this is a hockey trade that works within the cap of todays game.
