You hit the nail on the head. No way he has any positive trade value.

I could get used to seeing all these 3 dumpster Cali teams occupying the last, 2nd last and 3rd last spots of the pacific division for the next decade! :P

I’ll drink to that!  :towel:

That might be a bit much. Not Every team takes the ‘decade long and still suck’ Oiler rebuild approach!

That contract. OMG.
He has peaked and is on his way down now.......and he only has 1.5 ankles

I don't know if that's his issue.

When i was a kid i had a similar injury in the summer and was on crutches for 10 weeks.

When i came back to the specialist/ physically tested the strength flexibility etc my injured achilles tendon was stronger then my non repaired one.

Maybe it does play a part considering the age difference at the time on injury but i honestly think there's more of a mental thing then physical for him.

Lol this pic is from 2012, when he was making 1.3 AAV playing for a good Canadian team.

It's 2020, he has 7 more years left after this season at 11.5 million AAV

Erik Karlsson IS an overrated minus machine now. Sharks might even do better without him.

Watch, their record improve without Karlsson and Dhillon.

It really is a travesty.

When Karlsson was at his best he was the best defenseman we've seen since Lidstrom.

As good as Hughes is Karlsson was much greater during his hayday but we've just begun to see what Hughes is all about. Dude carried a team that shouldn't of made it to the playoffs all the way to the 3rd round while injured.

He was really fun to watch but injuries have set him back so much.

I'd argue Hughes has been better at the same stage of Karlsson's career.

Hard to argue when Karlsson carried a team that was worse than ours into the playoffs and all the way to the conference finals, all while hurt. Even before that he was dominant, won 2 Norris trophys. Hughes is great but let him work toward being a better player than Karlsson was during that time before labeling him with only a small palate, he is only a rookie.

Karlsson before his injuries in Ottawa was considered to be the best player in the world. Never seen a player, let alone a defenseman, carry a team like the Sens. Never seen a defenseman play at level before since Lidstrom.

He isn't that player anymore though which is unfortunate for hockey.
