[Discussion] What would it takes to get Duclair ?

Recommended Posts

The title is self explainatory.

We still don't have a second line, even with Toffoli who came to replace Boeser.
When Boeser will end up healing, the regular season will be over... and may be the whole campagn itself with that kind of tight standings in west if we continue to roll 1 scoring line and 3 shutdown lines.

So the question is, what would it takes to get Duclair from Ottawa, in purpose to finally ice a real 2nd scoring line.

24 years old, 1.650M and RFA at the end of this year.

GP 60 22g 15a 37p

To be honest, he could be difficult to OTT to let him go, but i would assume everyone has a price.

any interest in him and what would be your price ?

Screw Duclair go after Tierney.

Dude is a way better fit at 3rd line C than Gaudette. Only a couple years older than Gaud too and is an RFA as well. Top Pker on Ottawa and plays the PP, almost 900 faceoffs and is 51%, Has 30 points this year with most of his zone starts in his own zone.

Gaudette has a lot of promise offensively and could end up better offensively but he probably won't be better defensively or on the draw. Tierney is a helluva player now and we would still be set at C with him for years.

Send them Gaud and Juolevi. I would personally try to send them Sutter as well to shore up their team at C for the following year. might have to add another mid-pick/prospect. Sutter is a cap dump but still a useful player that has value, wouldn't be too hard to move him to a team like that.

TG would love Tierney.  He would totally free up Horvat and anchor the third line. I would keep Sutter for this season though in case a center goes down for the potential playoff run and trade him in the off season or at the draft.  He will only have 1 year left and may have some value depending on how he/Canucks do this season.

I think Gaudette and Juolevi should get you a pick back as well.  Gaudette does have more offensive upside than Tierney and Juolevi does still have some value.  This is one of those deals that may benefit both teams even though I would hate to give up Gaudette and Juolevi before we know exactly what they are.  There is more risk here for the Canucks than the Sens.

That's a really good idea. Tierney has alot of playoff experience too from his time with the Sharks. Also a former teammate of Bo in London. Juolevi is pretty much still a Grade A+ prospect though. Gaudette as well would be too much. So how about Sutter instead of Gaudette and move Gaudette to right wing for now so he can have less defensive pressure. We grab Borowiecki too if he's coming back from his ankle injury anytime soon. We need to shore up the blueline badly.

Canucks acquire: C.Tierney

                                M.Borowiecki

                                2020 3rd

Senators acquire: Bra.Sutter

                                O.Juolevi

                                W.Lockwood rights
