Whether they did or didn't, neither of us know that. You're on a hypothetical path to try and get me to support pst, or any other taxes.

Alberta has no pst and gives away billions so imo a tax isn't needed if Alberta was to become a sovereign nation.

Yes, however all money stays in Alberta. Truthfully after covid19 if Alberta was independent a gst would likely have to be implemented, however it could be maybe only for 10 years or something. Also, again if we did need a gst from Edmonton (preferably Calgary B)) it would be no different than having to pay gst from Ottawa but I don't want a second tax like everywhere except Alberta.

Your conversation is going in a couple directions.

Yet prices in the Okanagan went up 20 cents today.  What a scam this industry is.  The sooner we wean off of it, the better off we are as a society and planet.

Really? I'm in Penticton, prices of fuel are the same as they were on Friday.

Oil industry has nothing to do with fuel prices, unless by industry you mean your provincial government..

yes, but thats also how the extra 2% on an HST would work for you. You'd get to keep that and invest in however AB wanted to. You'll get there, just give it a little more time.

Jim..independent Alberta or Alberta in Canada, what do you want?

Alberta in Canada is not implementing a pst, every party in the province opposes it save for the liberals. Let's be real the Alberta liberals were slugging it out with the rhino party in the last election.

just making the point that a PST would benefit Albertans and only Albertans. In practice its no different from Alberta the country taxing its citizens.

People in AB have bloated oil industry salaries, and you use that simple fact to whine about how badly Albertans are treated. Its ridiculous.

we're stuck in a loop. Strome wants some sort of special treatment for Albertan high wage earners,  but only Albertan high wage earners. Like thats "fair".

It's crazy how you can gloat for years about how great you are and rich you are and then when things go south complain the system is rigged. Lol
