Travis hamonic just wants the summer off and is using his family and daughter as an excuse..

They are in a bubble with Medical professionals and will be following all proper quarantine protocols before returning to their families after the playoffs.

Its literally safer to play in the playoffs than us regular folk going to work or the grocery store.

Flames fans should be choked.

The flames seem like a team that is a bunch of frat boys. I can understand why hamonic would want to distance himself.

I don’t blame him. I doubt the Canucks would play him anyway so why fly in and be away from his family just to sit in the press box.

This is true, but one would think that he may have made his NHL bed so to speak with denying to participate especially with the uncertainty around next AHL season. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision for him. I wanted to see him participate and hopefully resurrect his career, he would have been a good top 9 forward extra in case of injury.

I can understand why black aces are opting out to spend time with families instead of watching and practicing.

But Hamonic big time let his team down.

Family first Pavel

His decision to make and I'm sure his team mates understand that

Looks like his daughter had a bad health scare from a respiratory illness late last year, cant blame a father too much for wanting to make sure his kids are safe and spend good quality time with them

As I said before. He would be surrounded by medical professionals and in a quarantined bubble.

He is literally safer than any of us going to work and the grocery store. I have an 8 year old and a pregnant fiance at home and we both still go to work every day.

Hamonic let his team down.

so for half the games we have to listen to an American feed

My understanding is that they will only produce the feed but not the commentary which should still be local announcers.  For example the Wild will have local announcers commenting the game remotely off that Sportsnet feed.  They won't be present on site.

In normal times each broadcast produces their own feed off the different cameras available where they select what they want to show their viewers. For these games there will be only one feed produced as broadcasters of the teams playing won't be on site.

I honestly don't even care that much anymore.  With a long furlough everyone is going to be rusty and it just won't be the same. The NHL should just start fresh with a new season  early in September and call this one a wash.

I disagree. If play doesn't resume, we won't get playoff experience, or a chance at the 1st overall pick.
The season being cancelled is the worst outcome that can happen.
Besides, I want some hockey--I think most of us do.
