2028 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 1

Marwin Zuffi (LD)

  • The current top ranked prospect for this year's Entry Draft, Zuffi is a Swiss born playmaking defenceman currently in his second full season for Davos in the NLA. In 9 games this year, Zuffi is already being relied upon as one of the team's top defenceman averaging over 27 minutes a night and Zuffi has chipped in with 3 assists so far. Zuffi looks to be a responsible defencemen with absolutely no holes in his game. He is a top class skater and with time could turn into an exceptional two-way defenceman. Zuffi needs to work on improving his offensive game.

I call dibs on Zuffi

Why replace Josi with one stud Swiss playmaking defenceman when I can have two. A top pair of Dunki and Zuffi would be epic!

Lukas Rangnick (C)

  • A German playmaking centerman, Rangnick is in his first season for Augsburg in the DEL. In 9 games so far this season, Rangnick has 3 goals and 5 assists. At 5'8 and 202 lbs, Rangnick is thick, and some scouts feel his skating is affected by his weight. His overall skating is likely one of the biggest things Rangnick needs to work on heading into the future. Some scouts also feel Rangnick's game is too heavily reliant on passing and this may be because his shot is not the greatest as we speak. Rangnick obviously has potential if he's ranked 2nd for this year's draft but he has a lot to work on like most prospects.

Tyler Gobertz (LW/RW)

  • A 6'4 216 lbs two-way forward in his rookie season for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL, Gobertz has started off hot with 6 goals and 15 points through 16 games. Gobertz is effective when he is using his size to intimidate players. He is a very good skater and has a well polished defensive side to his game. Offensively, Gobertz has a solid base to work on however he doesn't have one offensive skill that really stands out. If Gobertz can refine and excel in at least one offensive skill, he could become a very dominating force in the NHL.

Pavel Muharemovic (RW)

  • A Swedish born playmaking winger, Muharemovic has made his SHL debut for Rogle this year, appearing in 9 games, producing 2 goals and 6 points. The smaller 5'9, 183 lbs forward is a highly skilled player who will always try and pull off the flashy moves. There is big concerns about his defensive game, and it may potentially be one of the reasons why Muharemovic hasn't stuck full time with Rogle and has instead played another 5 games with the J20 team. Muharemovic is heavily dependant on his passing, and it could be because his shot needs some improvement.

Donal Johnson (LW)

  • A right shooting left winger playing for the Sherbrooke Phoenix in the QMJHL, Johnson has put up some nice numbers to start the year with 9 goals and 16 points through the first 19 games. The two-way forward may be one of the prospects who is closer to being NHL Ready as his defensive game right now is good enough to play in the NHL. As he develops, Johnson may be able to turn himself into a premier defensive player, who is also capable of producing offense. Johnson has exceptional speed, which many scouts love and is sure to help his draft stock this summer.

I call dibs on not finishing in the bottom 10 so I can continue to ice a competitive team.
