Another Florida/Dallas trade in the books. Obviously a big loss for Dallas losing Barkov, but everyone needed a change. He is back home where he's more comfortable. Dallas is excited to bring in Zibanejad who can replace his minutes plus Burns who still has enough in the tank to make a big impact this year at least. Dallas will keep working to move up the standings in the red hot central division. Edited September 22, 2020 by Kobayashi Maru

Popular Post Nail
2023 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 4 Walt Bothwell (LW/C) A big 6'2 198 lbs sniper out of Tri-City in the WHL, Bothwell is having himself one helluva draft season with 32 goals and 58 points in 49 games. This is to go along with an 8.06 AVR, and is an improvement off his PPG rookie season one year ago. Bothwell has incredible speed for his larger frame, and defenders are always on notice when he has the puck. He leads the WHL in shots currently with 213, and the next closest only has 190. His 8.06 AVR is also the best among all players in the WHL, but is this a classic case of dominating a junior league, or does Bothwell have legit potential? Paul Campbell (RW) Campbell is enjoying a nice sophomore season for the Calgary Hitmen, with 29 goals and 53 points in 50 games so far. At 5'8 and 183 lbs, Campbell is a smaller but thicker finesse forward, who LOVES to deke and pass, but shys away from all contact. Campbell will need to be put on a strict training regime in order to gain some strength, and maybe cut down on some weight at the same time. Of note, 18 of his 29 goals this year have been scored on the powerplay, showing that Campbell might be at his best when utilized on the PP. Mike Matson (C) A 5'9 and 196(!) lbs centerman, Matson is listed as a finesse forward although there isn't much finesse to his game. Should he develop into an NHL player, Matson is looking more like a two-way center, a jack of all trades without any elite attributes anywhere. One thing that is surprising about Matson is that he has very poor balance for a guy that is so small and has so much weight, he gets knocked over by defenders easily right now. Matson is currently playing for the Kansas City Mavs program, and will likely sign an AHL deal for next season. Adam Wallin (C) Wallin has started to get a bit more exposure, after making his SHL debut for Farjestad this season, appearing in 7 games and picking up 1 assist. Listed as a finesse forward, Wallin may have a better base of defensive attributes than most finesse forwards, giving him an immediate leg up. Wallin has never been a big point producer, never putting up PPG at the U18 or U20 levels, but he is beginning to make a name for himself as a responsible forward that can be trusted throughout the lineup. Wallin will need to take some time and get stronger. Perparim Ristimaki (C) One of the more intriguing prospects in this years draft that has shot up some draft rankings as of late, Ristimaki is a 6'3 defensive center currently playing in the Finnish Jr league system. Having shown some offensive upside (22 points in 21 games), Ristimaki is getting interest from top teams in the Liiga, and is ready to show what he can do there. At a higher level, Ristimaki may not have as much offensive abilities, but his defensive game as a 17 year old is already NHL capable, and he could definitely hold his own in that regard.
